“Cloud Forest Gem in the heart of Monteverde”

Stunning location in the heart of Monteverde (st elena at least) walkable into the bustling little village. Great food and drink with local flavours and heated pool for chilling in the cloud forest 🌳 we enjoyed our stay here but it comes at a price and you expect excellence for this money.

Service was excellent, breakfast was good and it was easy to ask for options or something simple (e.g. just eggs on toast). Car parking was straightforward and handy. The hotel grounds were awesome and even though the pool was small, it is heated which makes it very usable! Handy also for Sta Elena and the restaurants.

“An oasis in the cloud forest”

Monteverde Lodge is exceptional. Everything is perfect without being pretentious. The staff is very friendly and obliging and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant is very good. Breakfast is all freshly cooked with juice plus tea & coffee. We stayed for three nights but there is so much to do in the area could easily have stayed another couple of nights. Nearby Monteverde town hosts a variety of cafes restaurants and gift shops. It's a 10min walk downhill to town but worth a short taxi ride back Recommended.

Good position and within easy reach of town. Restaurant was excellent with great food and particularly enjoyed the warmth of the open fire within.

Great location with an easy walk into town. Lovely garden room looking out onto lush vegetation and a babbling brook. Expansive gardens with short trails around the property. Delicious À la carte breakfast and evening meal. The pool is small but heated with sun loungers.

Being prepared that the drive is long and slow to get to the hotel so highly recommend not planning to do it in the dark. Once there , totally worth it!!

Rooms were nice, fireplace was cool, loads of animals around the facility.

Our room was exposed to a lot of noise during the stay, seems that the walls are very thin.

“Beautiful hotel - perfect for a luxury stay while in Costa Rica.”

The hotel itself is beautiful and is surrounded by multiple walking trails. We were travelling around Costa Rica for two weeks and this was was by far our favourite hotel. The beds are extremely comfortable, the view from our balcony (Mot Mot room) was stunning, the restaurant and open fire were perfect to relax in after a day in the cloud forest - as was the heated pool.

The wildlife we saw here was fabulous. Coatis and capuchins everywhere. The pool is lovely and the location easy to get to places.

The staff is and the food is what makes this place stand out! We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived.

Beautiful grounds with trails to explore. Spotted monkeys in the trees next to the lodge. Food was delicious with a wonderful view overlooking the gardens. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was lovely with a balcony overlooking a little stream and lots of vegetation. Kids enjoyed the wonderfully warm swimming pool.

“Luxury price for basic facilities”

The property was easy walking distance to downtown Santa Elena. The rooms were cleaned daily. The breakfast was a la carte which was very good.

Near to town and short drive to activities We had dinner in town, but Breakfast and lunch in the hotel were good We are not coffee drinkers so staff brought a kettle Very short hiking trail, didn't see any animals

Lovely restaurant and food. The company ethos of sustainability. Location for Monteverde parks for wildlife and walkable into the town. Friendly staff.
