We loved this place. It was so beautiful and peaceful, and Jose helped set up our tours and made excellent recommendations. The rooms are very big with huge comfortable beds. The views are incredible, especially at sunset.

The hotel is fabulous. The rooms are all designed to have an amazing view out over the Nicosia peninsula. Our room was very comfortable - with an extra large bed, a couple of easy chairs, fridge and coffee maker. The verandah had a sofa and we sat and watched the most beautiful sunset each evening. The on-site restaurant produced probably the best food we had in Costa Rica. Fresh, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. Jose, the owner, is a friendly, kind and helpful host.

This is truly a wow hotel. The view from the room feels like a dream I could not take my eyes off it. I am completely in love with this place. The mountain views are absolutely incredible and genuinely make you feel as if you are on top of the world. The room and bed are extremely comfortable, adding to the overall sense of relaxation. Jose was exceptional warm, passionate, and deeply connected to his hotel. You can truly feel that he has created a piece of art, perfectly positioned in one of the most beautiful spots in Monteverde. I would like to sincerely thank him for his outstanding hospitality.

Jose was incredibly welcoming and helped organise some trips for. The room and views are spectacular ! The restaurant is also excellent with Kristel the sunset queen looking after diners with an enormous amount of charm.

“Fantastic hotel, great staff, superb restaurant”

I ended up being the only guest when I arrived in June during the rainy season, but what a gem. The staff and host of the hotel were super friendly and very welcoming. The view from the room was breathtaking, and was very comfortable. The restaurant food is also really good, I ended up eating there for most of my trip considering it was a 20second walk from my room. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Great owner, very helpful and friendly (Jose). We lost our keys at one point and he didn’t bat an eyelid, just gave us another set and told us to forget about it. Very relaxing, chilled feel the whole time. Amazing view when the clouds disappear!

Amazing location high up in Monteverde with beautiful, large rooms. Nancy was a huge help with booking tours and recommending things to see and do. The restaurant is high end and we had one of the best meals of our trip. Thank you Nancy, Crystal and Jose for making our stay wonderful.

Really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Tropico. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable with everything we needed and best of all, the view from the review was exceptional. Would definitely return.
