“Beautiful sunrise and sunsets”

The views across the whole valley were amazing at sunrise and sunset, the cabin had everything that we needed and the family were lovely. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you 🙏

We had two wonderful nights in Campo Azul, Xinia was so kind and explained everything. The view ist amazing and the houses are well equiped. We loved it!

The location and cleanliness of this place is excellent. However, even better is the welcome you receive. Our host was such a kind and thoughtful lady. I have rarely witnessed such a sincerely friendly person managing a property and you really do feel so welcomed and at home here. The location is hallmarked by stunningly beautiful views out to the sea and you are surrounded by nature (we were seeing Toucan, monkeys, Toucanets, mammals and such a variety of other beautiful birds).It is also very quiet and peaceful here - so relaxing. The great forest trails and parks like Monteverde Cloud Forest, St Elana and the Children’s Eternal Rainforest are easily reached within around 15 - 20 mins - though as with all roads in Monteverde, the roads are challenging to drive being unsurfaced and many pot holes. I highly recommend staying here at Campo Azul. All three properties are fabulous, clean, quiet and comfortable and fantastic value for money.

Everything was so perfect, especially the hosts. Help with the tours and make us feel at home.

Xinia is a perfect host and tried to make our stay of two nights as comfortable as possible. You need definitely a car to come to the accomodation, but it's only a ten minutes drive from Santa Elena. What we liked best was the fantastic view over the mountains and the beautiful sunsets. It's also a good place for bird spotter; we saw our first toucan here. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked our own meals. Coffee was provided by Xinia. We definitely can recommend to stay here.

The host ! Emanuel and his parents are the loveliest people we met in Costa Rica! So warm so welcoming, really made you feel at home ! It was the loveliest place we stayed the location to view the way all the details were prepared for us ! 100/10 can not recommend enough. I would have come back to Costa Rica just to see this place and the hosts! The place is run with some much love

This accommodation is a true gem in Monteverde. You are surrounded by nature, we saw a lot of birds and two toucans there, and it has a fantastic view all the way to the Nicoya Peninsula. The hosts Xinia and Emanuel are very welcoming making the experience truly unique.

This is a really cute house up in the hills, surrounded by wildlife, solitude if you want it but within 10 mins drive of the town and all the fun activities monteverde has to offer. The hosts have thought of everything you might want/need for your stay and are passionate about you making the most of your time in the area. Clean, comfortable, lots of wildlife, stunning views. We loved it and would highly recommend. Just be warned the access route is off road and a bit of an adventure in the rain.

“Magical Stay in lovely house with so many birds to watch”

Hosts and the guide they introduced are all so nice and sincere they felt like your family. The best experience we have in our 3 weeks trip. The wooden house has so much charm and they manage this place with so much love. We saw sooo many birds: blue jays, wood peckers, mot mot, even toucan just by sitting inside the house looking out to the bananas tray they put in the garden. A kitchen with a blender, and all kitchen tools. Hot shower. Fridge, microwave. Everything you need, there are. Host shows us the coffee they are growing and we cut herbs and lemons from their garden to cook dinner and breakfast.

The family that runs it - the kindest and sweetest people we’ve met in Costa Rica. Location is amazing if you like the quiet surroundings and beautiful views. The best flavour of bananas from the garden. Lots of birds and nature, we even saw an armadillo one night!

We had amazing days here. Lovely hosts, great support, unbelievable location - quiet but still very close to all the attractions of Monteverde. And if you like birds, you will love to spend a lot of time at the bird feeder to take photos of all the different species. And if you want to experience even more nature, book the great tours with Juan!

“Best accommodation close to Santa Elena”

Campo Azul is a fantastic place with a stunning view. We stayed three nights and enjoyed every second. The little houses offer everything one might need, the kitchen is very well equipped and the beds are comfortable. We totally recommend staying there. The hosts prepared everything very nicely. Xinia truly has an eye for detail... almost every art decoration is self-made by her. Emaules family is just awesome! They even provided us with fresh bananas and juice. Santa Elena as well as Monteverde are easy to reach by car. So far, it has been the best accommodation on our Costa Rica trip. :)

“The best place on earth”

We had such a warm welcome from Emanuel and his parents. His mum Xinia made us feel completely at home. The house is lovely, spacious and with the most amazing view in Monteverde. Our stay there was very relaxing, just what we needed. It is 30-min away from the town by walk, which was completely doable. Emanuel is great in helping organize excursions and transportation.. We wish we stayed longer !
