This place is just a paradise in the mountains. Traditional Italian house with a wonderful view and everything, what is necessary for stay. Quiet, allowing to rest and to breathe, as the temperature high in the mountains is always a bit lower. Friendly people in the village and very helpful Owner of the house. Beautiful Lucca and Piza not far from this place (20 and 40 km) so it is a good starting point for the trips.

What a delightful house in the alpine village of Montefegatesi. This very clean, warm and well-furnished house had everything we needed for our week long stay. It was great. The location is superb, for following the mountain trails, which are close to the house, or a little further up the mountain. We chose mid-May and were impressed with the walks, wildlife ( deer, boar, birds especially the cuckoo) and all the flowers, notable the may Orchids which lined our trails and the alpine meadows. The local shop in Montefegatesi is well stocked and very reasonable. The bar just off the square is pleasant and offers excellent mountain views. The short drive down to Bagni di Lucca gets you access to the railway station where you can pick up day tickets to both Lucca and Pisa. Great towns to explore on foot, and taking the train avoids the city Italian drivers and problems with finding a parking space. In all a wonderful house in a great location. Highly recommended. Thank you.

“Perfect mountain stay in a beautiful home.”
We had the best week staying here. It has been renovated to perfection, no expense spared. It’s in the mountain and away from everything, perfect for peace and quiet, mountain walks and relaxation. However, if you don’t mind driving, there are beautiful towns and villas to visit within 30 minutes to an hour. Alessia very kindly provides a few basics and the stove had been preheated, so it was nice and warm on arrival. Getting a weekly food shop on your way to the house is advantageous. We hope to visit again.
