I like the fact that it’s remote and the views are spectacular. The cottage is equipped with everything you need and we loved the outdoor and indoor fireplaces. The outdoor hot tub was a bonus. Great trails for hiking and spending quality time with family. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The on-site shop was lovely with lots of goodies.

A Beautiful Slice of Heaven in the Mountains Kingfisher Cottages are an absolute gem! We loved everything about it—the stunning views, incredible star-gazing, beautiful hiking trails, and our boys had a blast fishing. If you’re looking to escape the noise and enjoy a true digital detox, this is the perfect place. That said, the Wi-Fi is surprisingly good—I even managed to get a bit of work done under the stars! We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway.

Best place for enjoying peace and nature. Lovely and cosy place with very comfortable beds and a nice big kitchen. Marco and Vivian are always there if you need anything. The stars at night are amazing. Always coming back.

We really enjoyed our down-time in this fantastic mountain setting. The accommodation, as well as being genuinely sustainable, is tasteful and thoroughly considered in every aspect.

Everything! : The location - tucked away in the Klein Karoo, but still close to several key towns. Plenty of hiking and running options. The hosts: Vivian and Marco were absolutely great. The cottage: had everything we needed, and of course we loved the wood-fired hot tub. The farm: an unbelievably impressive sustainable initiative. Can't wait to go back!

The view and location are amazing and just what we were looking for - nature and quietness! The cottage is beautiful and modern and has everything you need.

Absolutely fantastic stay, in a cosy cottage nestled deep in the mountains of Montagu. We explored the trails, visited all the sundowner spots, napped, braaied and enjoyed how time seemed to stand still. We will definitely be back!
