“A perfect place in a pretty town”

Everything was perfect and exceeded our expectations, Brydon was a perfect host and Hein too. What a place to stay , very special and we definitely plan to return.

“Real class”

This place felt more like staying in someone’s home than a guesthouse. Well decorated with antiques, quite intimate and private in feel. Only two rooms I believe. Next time, I will book both rooms and have the house to ourselves. Right in the middle of town. Most restaurants and shops are within walking distance.

Jonkmanshof is so beautiful it’s hard to put into words! The house and decor absolutely took our breath away, our room was incredible and the garden was heaven. Hein, Brydon, James and the housekeeping ladies were all fabulous and truly made our 2 nights with them some of the best of our 2 week honeymoon. The dinner the private chef Marc made on our first night was sublime and Brydon even made dinner reservations for our for our second night which was a fabulous surprise. The town of Montagu is small with a few nice shops, but honestly this is a stay where you won’t want to leave so whatever is around isn’t so relevant! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

“Pure perfection”

The best stay we’ve ever had. From the warm and welcoming arrival, the attention to detail, the interior, the perfect outside relaxing sports between the citruses, the excellent breakfast. No words but pure perfection.

Love the old building as well as the interior and fantastic garden. The breakfast was outstanding and everything was freshly made. The bread as well as the jam was made on the property from home grown ingredients. Even the eggs were fresh and sourced from the property. The antique furniture and decorations complement the interior of this 1854 old house.

Loved the orchard with the most incredible lemons ! The house is beautiful with fantastic art and genuine linen-all so comfortable The kitchen is spectacular with a real AGA stove... Just incredible

The house, decor and garden is absolutely incredible and worth travelling to Montagu for alone. The hosts are lovely and helpful, the breakfast was so authentic and fresh, and the location was perfect.

What a magnificent place... beautifully curated and homely at the same time. The breakfasts were amazing and the hosts were wonderful. Wait until you see the Citrus garden... just heaven.

“Vogue Living Dream meets Countryhouse - 10/10 🤩”

We had the most amazing stay in this beautiful country house dream! You feel like living in a Vogue Living magazine - the apartment is so beautifully decorated with little details everywhere. You share the house with just another couple, as there are only two bedrooms so that you have the whole area to yourself (pool, garden, kitchen, living room etc.). Hein and Bryant gave us a very warm welcome, we’re super quick in their communication and made us fresh breakfast every morning. This was definitely one of the highlights of our South Africa trip. Highly recommend and will definitely come again! Thank you for the unforgettable stay!

“An amazing experience”

Jonkmanshof is one of the best stays we've had. The property itself is absolutely beautiful. The interiors inside look like they are straight from a magazine and the gardens outside are equally as lovely. So many additional nice touches such as hand made soaps, etc, made from the citrus fruits grown in the garden and the breakfasts were outstanding. The hosts (Hein and Brydon) were both so great, very friendly and provided great recommendations for food and things to do. They both went above and beyond what you would expect of any host. A most memorable stay.
