“It’s a relaxed place”

The property is widespread and very clean. It has kitchen and many places to sit. Coffee and water available free all the time. Many places to eat nearby. The people were nice.

It’s a good stay money wise for a short time in Moalboal. Hot water at all times. Walking distance to bus stop (in front of McDonald’s). The owner was very nice to warn us that they don’t have a generator and gave us the option to still cancel due to typhoon possible power outage.

I booked a deluxe double room for parents (senior citizen)with a private bathroom, but the bathroom was actually outside the room, which was very inconvenient and misleading. At night it was even worse because the gate was closed, and there was no staff available to assist us or let us in. It felt unsafe and uncomfortable. Very disappointed with the stay and the false information in the listing.

I would absolutely not recommend staying at MJ's Residences Garden Hotel in Moalboal. My experience here was deeply uncomfortable, bordering on unacceptable, especially in terms of privacy violations and the rundown condition of the property. There was a CCTV camera installed in the communal kitchen that actively moved and followed me while I was in there. This was clearly not passive security — it felt like I was being watched in real time. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. No signage or notice was posted about this level of monitoring. CCTV in shared areas should be for safety, not to track and spy on guests. I'm assuming all cameras do the same but this was the only one I saw actively monitoring me. The room decor was tired, dark, and depressing, with worn-out furnishings and poor lighting. The kitchen was old and outdated, with mismatched appliances and a generally grimy feel. The communal bathroom and showers were run-down and unclean, with poor water pressure and aging fixtures. The air conditioning unit was extremely noisy, keeping me awake at night despite the heat. The TV outdates and only had limitrd & unclear analogue channels, accompanied by constant static and crackling sounds The water dispenser was never refilled or changed, making it feel more like a neglected hostel than a functioning Between the shocking invasion of privacy and the poor condition of the property, this was one of the worst accommodation experiences I've ever had. I’ve reported the surveillance issue to Booking.com and may follow up with local authorities. I strongly urge other travelers to avoid this place entirely.

everything about our stay was perfect, the location is great and the staff were helpful and informative and nothing was too much trouble, the only strange thing is you do have a private shower and toilet but they are NOT in your room...!

Clean and perfect for group bookings. They allowed us early check-in and they are very responsive

The hotel is in a quieter area of the town, which allowed us to sleep in silence and have a proper rest. The common areas are very nice, and in general, the whole structure is super clean.

Nothing special, everything was good to very good, but nothing did stand out. Would stay again. Stayed here for a night to travel between Siquijor and Malapascua.

We extended our stay and already made a good reference.

“Good value for money”

Spacious apartment, quiet place, silent A.C. Well equipped kitchen, spacious, modernised bathroom with hot water. NO insects, windows with functional mosquito nets. Decent size smart tv with Netflix subscription. Queen bed with mattress that most guests will find comfortable but somewhat too firm for my back. Bunk bed for our teenager. But they had a 60cm wide and 30mm thick firm foam, the type that can be folded in 3 pieces which they gave me and which worked wonders for my back. ALL accomodations should have these availablento avoid comments about too firm mattresses which is so common in asia. Separate private eating/dining room with spacious table and 6 chairs. We extended stay for 2 more days. Perfect for families or couples who do not need to revisit nightlife location in the evening. We had a taxiride to Osmenia peak and KaWasan falls, from 9am to 4p.m and paid 3000php, for the 3 of us. Some minor entrance fees excluded. 5 minutes walk to supermarket and a 15 minutes tricycle ride to 'sardine run' site which we enjoyed or somewhat more to 'white beach' were we swam an hour with a monster green turtle of 1,5mtr estimated 500kg. It was totally unafraid and ate grass as we watched and filmed it, even up close without touching it.

The room was very nice for Philippines standards. Spacious clean room. Nice and comfortable bed. Storage space, a table and 2 chairs, etc. AC and shower worked very well! Staff was helpful and friendly, breakfast was great, water available outside. Laundry service was very good.

This time it was a short stay, but I was able to relax in a quiet environment. The host was also kind. Thank you for staying longer next time!

“Best staff and cleaning”

Everything!! Very beautifull nature vibes! Spacious room, with fridge, freezer, kettle and kitchen. Very very clean! Nicest staff ever! Always ready to help, even when we forgot a small thing at the hotel. They clean multiple times a day, so it’s ALWAYS spotless. Very nice kitchen with a mall nearby!
