Very clean, well presented, and very Japanese. We were able to drop off a small bag as the we arrived on the island earlier than check in. This was very handy. Bed was comfy, room was very quiet and breakfast was perfect. Host was very accommodating and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful place to stay - a peaceful sanctuary in a great location. Koske was so welcoming, made us feel at home and always with a kind and friendly smile. Excellent breakfast. He also has his own sukiyaki restaurant nearby in which we had dinner - 5 Star!!

Beautiful authentic home, private and quiet in a location easy to get to from the ferry terminal. Kousuke was a perfect host, prepared us a delicious breakfast and was very helpful in storing our luggage whilst we explored the island. The room was spacious, beds were comfortable, the cool drinks also a nice treat. Highly recommend this little gem.

Beautiful, authentic 120 year old house. Pleasantly modernised without losing its character and charm. Situated in a quiet street away from the daily tourist bustle. Some drinks in the room were appreciated. Breakfast was superb. Friendly and helpful host.

The property was centrally located. The host was very available and kind. Room very spacious, clean and confortable in a typical beautiful Japanese house. Breakfast delicious. Complementary drinks in the room. Best stay in Japan!

The accommodation was wonderful and fully equipped with everything. It had a very elegant and peaceful atmosphere. “Fantastic experience!”

Firstly the host was really welcoming and nice. It’s quite unique to be able to talk to a local so much :) The room was big with comfortable beds and more than enough space. The breakfast was really good (especially the coffee which we found hard to find any other place) The hotels location was ideal for us as it’s close to the ferry, the Main Street and all of the main attractions. The price is a bit steep, but absolutelly worth it!

“First class and utterly charming”

What a charming little gem Hem’s Hotel is! Tucked away in a quiet little street away from the crowds, it oozes charm and tranquility. I had the best night’s sleep here of my whole three weeks in Japan. The beds were super comfortable and the pjs were fabulous quality. Our host was lovely, super kind and helpful. A charming little garden courtyard with downstairs amenities which we rather liked as gives more privacy than an en-suite. We had a yummy breakfast served with great care and attention. Meticulously clean and full of character. A real find.

Location, only one guest room so really quiet and comfortable. Typical Japanese house which is exactly what we were looking for. The guy who owned it was amazing.

A 130 year old house that works as a Bed and breakfast. Only one guest room. The room and bathroom were very clean and the breakfast was very good.

We loved Hem's Hotel and Miyajima. You are staying in a traditional home. We had a large room with beds and sitting area. The bathroom is separate but you are the only guests with a section of your own to move around in. Our host was very helpful and lovely. He made us the most magnificent breakfast on each day. The beds were very comfortable and the area is extremely quiet.

The 120 year old townhouse was very authentic. The owner Kosco - apology for incorrect name spelling - was a very lovely caring person. He explained everything about the property. The breakfast was delicious. The location ideal - 5 minute walk to the Floating Tori Gate.

The location was fantastic and very special. We were made so welcome. The breakfast was very good and presented beautiful. It was a delight to stay in this historic house and to be treated so well. Yes the bathroom is downstairs but it in no way detracts from the pleasure in staying here.
