“Amazing location but disappointing stay.”

Amazing hotel in many ways, but its best times are sadly behind it. The location on the water is incredible, so go for that alone. The Japanese meal is exceptional but very Japanese - so you need to be prepared for the full works. The onsen is spectacular. The staff are wonderful and friendly. The transfer from the station is very efficient.

The room was exceptionally large compared to the rooms I stayed in Tokyo. I loved having a balcony and fresh air. I did not need to turn the air conditioning on in April. I loved the mix of western bedding and Japanese style tatami flooring in the room.

The location is great. The rooms are cosy and clean. The private onsen was fantastic. The staff was very helpful. The hotel is a little bit "old-school" but it's part of its charm.

Such a beautiful hotel looking out to Miyajima Island. Impeccable staff and service. A great buffet breakfast with plenty of western options. Lovely onsen area. You can also book a private outdoor onsen overlooking the water which is just beautiful. The hotel has a shuttle to the boat pier allowing you to get over go Miyajima Island nice and early before the day trippers. Highly recommend.

“Great stay in wonderful hotel”

It was a lovely property. The views of Miyajima were amazing. The buffet breakfast was great. The staff were so helpful and kind when we mentioned at the start of dinner that our daughter was gluten free. They adapted her meal and even bought her a new entree.

“Astonishing views! Book the futon experience!”

We had an astonishing view on island of Miyajima! We chose for the futon experience and I must say this was far better than expected, I slept very well. Unlike the other hotels we had been so far, this room was very spatious, and with a little balcony so you could enjoy the silence and views at dusk. I read in other reviews that this hotel was outdated, but since we booked the futon experience, our room was very basic. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. We could enjoy the sound and smell of the rain on the lake while enjoying our private onsen. The hotel offers a free service to/from Miyajima station! So if you're arriving during daytime you can make use of this service to reach the hotel.

Great location - the sea view is magnificent, the rooms a decent size and the beds were comfortable. The staff were helpful and the hotel runs a good half-hourly shuttle bus from the station.

It’s a slightly retro hotel but full of character and spotlessly clean and comfortable. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and the private onsen was almost worth the stay in itself.
