Wonderful artistic and historic decor. Catherine is a lovely host and a fabulous cook (in fact she runs cookery classes) - we enjoyed a superb meal in the evening. A delightful stay on our way towards Italy.

The warm welcome from hostess, Catherine, who showed us around her beautiful property and grounds. Catherine also cooked and served us a wonderful and memorable dinner in her very French-style kitchen. Great choice of aperitifs and wide selection of serving dishes. Very warm and welcoming!

Set in the country off the beaten track. Wonderful hostess. Took advantage of gourmet dinner at 20 euros per head including wine. What a fabulous meal cooked in house. Smoked salmon with well dressed salad. Puffed pastry stuffed with ratatouille, cheese, chocolate fondant to die for! Well stocked breakfast table with hand-pressed orange juice etc. etc. Its on our "to do again" list for sure.

Exceptional hospitality; kindness and good spirits! Excellent food and company. A remarkable few days, with an exceptionally gracious hostess, who went ourt pf her wat to assist us well beyoind the call of duty!

Location, no noise, very amenable host. Thoughtful delightful decor. Bath! Plenty of heat, easy to regulate. Room service for evening meal.

Actually, it is not just a guest house, it is a special experience for the whole family! Madam Forget-Pépin is a wonderful lady! She served us with a delicious dinner, breakfast and also local wine. The house itself is very comfortable with the great design, beds were so good, so we all slept like babies) We had an extremely lovely stay and definitely will come back next time! Many thanks to Madam and her dogs!

Fantastic welcome and hospitality. Super chambre d'hotes experience. Great cooking tailored to vegetarian requirment - Catherine really understands this and how to make people welcome - and clearly enjoys doing just that.

Maison d’hotes à l’Ombre bleue sits in the sleepy town of Mittainville. Closeted behind traditional French gates the property sits in a secret garden framed by fragrant wisteria. Beyond the foliage sits the pan-adorned kitchen and hearty dining table. Catherine is a friendly and generous host who goes above and beyond to meet all needs. Her cuisine Francaise showcases the local produce and her skill as a chef and sommelier. Our meal was fantastic, fresh and full of flavour; the whole family devoured the four course menu and the breakfast was equally as enjoyable. The peace and tranquility of Catherine’s home is underscored by the sounds of nature buzzing, singing and hopping around her garden; a perfect location to get lost in a book while the children hunt for frogs! Her accommodation was charming cool and so comfortable, the perfect chintzy setting to unwind. We will be back soon x

Catherine is an exceptional host nothing was too much trouble, accommodation first class and the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in on our travels.
