We stayed at Id-Dwejra Country Residence in Misrah Suffara in November 2025 as part of a round trip and visited four different accommodations in total. First of all, we would like to mention that the Booking.com rating system worked perfectly for us. Before the trip, I had some concerns that the ratings might be too good to be true, but in fact all accommodations met our expectations exactly – and this one clearly stood out. Although all our stays were in small boutique-style properties, this Id-Dwejra is truly special: you are the only guest and have the entire annex building, the pool, and all outdoor areas completely to yourself. This level of privacy is exceptional. Equally outstanding is the care and attention provided by the owner, Mark. Even before our arrival, everything was perfectly organized – from clarifying the arrival details to making sure everything was ready when we got there. The same high level of care continued throughout our stay, whether it was help with food arrangements or excellent recommendations for excursions and restaurants in the evening. Id-Dwejra County Residence itself is beautiful, comfortable, and very well maintained. The pool is great, even though November is of course not ideal for long swimming sessions. The location is perfect for guests seeking absolute peace and relaxation, while still being able to reach many different destinations within a short driving distance. We will definitely recommend this accommodation to friends and acquaintances and would like to sincerely thank Mark for such a wonderful stay.

Mark and Flavia have created an oasis of calm in the countryside of Malta. Their attention to detail makes for a very comfortable stay. A lot of thought and hard work has gone into making the pool and gardens a very relaxing place to spend some time. The accommodation consists of a large bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a lounge with direct access to the garden. You will be the only guests. Mark serves a great breakfast in the garden and both he and Flavia couldn’t be more helpful. Thoroughly recommend Il-Dwejra if you are looking for peace and quiet.

Everything was perfect. Flavia and Mark made us so welcome from the moment we arrived. The studio was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The garden was beautiful and the pool luxurious. When I first saw the rating of this property, I thought it might be a scam - but it definitely isn't. Mark is the nicest host I've ever had. We got a warm welcome when we arrived, fantastic recommendations for our stay, and quick help whenever we had questions. Mark made sure we had everything we needed, including early morning coffees right after we woke up, personalised breakfasts anytime we wanted, and the kindness we really appreciated during our stay. Simply put, this was the best stay we've ever had. We’re definitely coming back soon!

Flavia and Mark were the best hosts we ever had. Upon the arrival they gave us tips for visiting different places and each suggestion was absolutly top. The location of the accommodationis was great, it was really quiet and the nearest shop was only 15 min walking distance. You can reach every part of Malta really easy. The whole accomodation is a dream, you can see and feel the love they put in it. The art made by Flavia was absolutly stunning. Both of them are such lovely smart people and we are very glad that we had the opportunity to meet them. We would also like to give an extra compliment to the coffee cups that made the espresso even better :)

Absolutely everything! Mark and Flavia were super hosts. Our breakfast was so good we didn't need to eat until evening. We had breakfast served on the terrace each morning, overlooking the beautiful garden and swimming pool. It was like paradise.

I highly reccomend Id-dwerja country residence. The hospitality of Mark & Flavia was so warm and caring. The place itself is a gem. Nestled in a small peaceful village and 20 minutes drive from some lovely beaches and 7 minutes drive from Medina. The hospitality unit is very clean and comfortable, breakfast is great and the small pool and garden are lovely. If you like the quietness of the country side thats a perfect choise for you.

First, the facilities are exceptional and you are the only guest. Hence, you can fully enjoy everything i.e. the pool, your own small apartment,... The residence is also located in the countryside so it is very quite. Finally, the hosts (Mark and Flavia) are the best. They are helpful, and very friendly, they will do everything to make you feel comfortable and at home.

Mark and his wife are excellent hosts, incredibly welcoming and informative. If you are looking for somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of the city this a good location as it is relaxed and is a good base to travel around the island from, we would recommend hiring a car.

“A perfect break in the rural part of Malta with a perfect host”

The host Marco and his partner Flavia who were very friendly, caring, kind and gave us the opportunity to relax, feel at home. Marco provided us with lots of tips about sightseeing, places to eat etc. The fantastic garden en swimming pool where we had a lot of privacy en moments of peace. The location outside the rumour and hectic of the city but from where we could reach all the places on the island within less than 30 minutes.
