Staying here was a fantastic experience and a great way to see this unique part of Oman. The host was incredibly kind and friendly. He truly went above and beyond by helping us out in a difficult situation, which we appreciated so much. The hospitality here is genuine, and it made our visit to the mountains very special.

“The best view near Jabal Shams”

Great location. The best view for watching the sunset. It is practically at the beginning of the dirt road that brings you to Jabal Shams. Sultan was very quick with arranging a 4 WD taxi for us when we wanted to visit Jabal Shams lastminute as we tried with our 2 WD and decided to go back. The beds are very comfortable and clean, rooms well sized and kitchen equipped with everything we needed from pans to oil and spices. Wifi works good. We also enjoyed having dinner outside.

Sultan is an amazing host and the food was excellent House is lovely and in an amazing environment Any problem encountered was solved within minutes by the host, could not recommend it enough!

A wonderful house on the top with beautiful views. Everything you need is on site. A good base for mountain trips. No 4x4 needed to get there.

Everything was wonderful! The host offered us dinner and breakfast. It was magnificent! One of the best dinners of our entire trip to Oman.

The house was very clean and comfortable, the food was really tasty, and nothing was missing — we truly enjoyed our stay. Very good communion with owner.p. A must do in Oman 👍

We loved the magnificent view of the mountains, the serenity, the warm welcome, the delicious plentiful food delivered punctually by Sultan for a reasonable price. There were enough facilities in the house, a lot of space, a well equiped kitchen, a nice view from the bedroom, a living/eating room. Sultan replied immediately via Whatsapp. It's about 35 min drive to the balcony walk. We did it quite easily without a 4x4 car. As there is no real food shop in the neighbourhood we recommend to bring enough water and food for lunch (if you order the breakfast and dinner of Sultan). Don't hesitate to book the house, it's worth it, you won't regret it.

Excellent Location. Recommended for 2 nights stay. The bench outside is a perfect spot to view the sunset. The host is amazing and the food is excellent.

Amazing property, very well furnished, sunrise view on one side and sunset view on the other side. The brothers Sultan and Hamid were very helpful. They helped us set up a barbecue at night and also took us on a Jebel Shams tour in the morning.

“Look no further , magical place”

The summit house is just magical , the location is really nice , very calm , we enjoyed the sunset on the bench with the view of beautiful mountains, just in front of the property. The house is well equipped with everything, if you need something you can just ask the owner who’s super kind , he speaks a bit of English but his cousins helps with all communication efficiently . We ask them to prepare us a dinner and breakfast which was really nice and tasty . There a bbq but also a kitchen if you want to cook . The house is clean and comfortable. We truly recommend this place ! We have leaved in oman for few years and we know several places , this one thick a lot of good boxes !

“Stunning views, peaceful surroundings and charming helpful owners.”

This is a simple modern property with 2 independent bedrooms plus a kitchen and lounge/ dining room. The views are spectacular and the area very peaceful. The charming extended Omani family offer breakfast and/ or dinner brought to the house for you at a very reasonable charge. They will take you to the Balcony Walk in their 4 wheel drive Land Cruiser and also to a swimming spot in the nearby Wadi. You can drive up to the village in a normal hire car but a 4 wheel drive is needed for getting up Jabal Shams or going to the wadi.

“Very comfortable accommodation!”

A very neat house with all necessary facilities. Although not near the summit of Jebel Shams, it is high enough to enjoy excellent views - and its own location is stunning. We requested dinner and breakfast, and both were adequate. Everything is exceptionally clean and things work. We got lost looking for the house (our fault because we didn't have adequate GPS coverage but the owners went out of their way to come find and us and escort us to the house.

If you are looking for a location with a great view and close to the canyon then stop and look no more. This place was really great and the view mesmerizing! We were also offered a trip to the canyon that we happily accepted. The tour was great and if we ever come back, we definitely gonna stay here again.

“Nothing better !!”

Jabal Shams "The Summit house" One won't find anything better than the experience at Jabal Shams Summit house. The hosts Hamid and his brother Sultan welcome you as friends and the accommodation offered is fully for you as guest. The house itself is very comfi and clean with own kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms available all within the enclosed garden which has sufficient place to park cars. At the same time breakfast or dinner can be served on the terrace equipped with sufficient seats and tables. We (party of two) asked the hosts to providing dinner and breakfast, at extra cost but worth the money. The view from the terrace is breathtakingly fabulous and nature is at its best to painting the sunset in brilliant colors. The drive to the Balcony walk starts at the village and takes 30 ~45 minutes again in a breathtaking scenery. Reserve at least 5 ~6 hours for the total trip. Then relax back "Home" at the lodge. If you ask Hamid they can organize a trip to a "secret" small wadi with a beautiful warm! Waterfall. Be prepared to do a bit of hiking to get there, Hamid will drive you as its fully off—road. But that is why its Secret! Also Hamid provides another special trip to the bottom of the balcony walk gorge. He will take you in a rougher 4 x 4 than we can rent to trough a pebble filled stream into the mouth of the gorge where you will be gazing up 1200 Meters where you have been walking the day before. Both trip are for a small extra cost.

“Just go and stay”

Great location, amazing house , amenities . Sultan and his family were super flex and chill. They made sure we had a good time. The location is amazing and well worth the drive. I wish I could spend few more days there. The host organised barbecue and that was delicious. Our car tyre had a flat and they helped us get fixed. Highly recommend this place.
