We had a wonderful stay and ended up extending our stay to 3 nights because we enjoyed it so much. The restaurant was outstanding. The best food we had in Ecuador.

We had the most incredible stay at Las Terrazas de Dana. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Everyone was warm, attentive and endlessly helpful throughout our stay. A special mention has to go to Marco, who was absolutely fantastic. Friendly, thoughtful and always going above and beyond, he made our stay feel truly special and added such a personal touch to the whole experience. The location is absolutely breathtaking, with panoramic views that feel unreal, especially at sunrise and sunset. What we loved most was how peaceful and quiet everything felt. It’s the perfect place to properly switch off, surrounded by nature and birdsong, while still being incredibly comfortable. The food was another huge highlight, every meal was fresh, beautifully prepared and outstanding. It’s worth coming to eat here even if you’re not staying here. We also hired a bird watching guide from the hotel and had the most wonderful experience seeing over 60 birds. It’s a paradise. And finally, the hotel dogs completely stole our hearts. Friendly, gentle and always ready for a cuddle or to accompany you on a wander, they added so much charm and personality to an already magical place. Las Terrazas de Dana is one of those rare places that feels truly special. We left feeling relaxed, happy and already wanting to come back. Could not recommend it more highly.

We loved absolutely everything… it was the most perfect hotel we’ve ever stayed in. The whole team looked after us like family; Brian & Angel especially went out of their way to be as helpful & friendly as possible. The room was delightful ( king suite) with a balcony view to die for. We watched so many little birds and squirrels going about their day from the comfortable chairs there. Everything here was top quality including the most delicious and varied menu in their lovely restaurant. We never eat dinner in hotels elsewhere, but we simply could not bring ourselves to leave!

This is the perfect hotel to stay when in Mindo. David sets the tone with his helpful approach to every question and request. The set up Is wonderful - all aspects - room was a so spacious and comfortable. Food was sublime - are there each of the 3 nights we stayed. The whole Team were brilliant!

We arrived at this wonderful hotel on 19th April 2024. Because of my own stupidity of wearing unsuitable shoes I slipped on a bit of grass on the 20th April and broke my ankle. The staff could not have been more helpful. The hotel owner David, manager Marco, and all the team at Las Terrazas were magnificent in how caring and kind they were. They arranged trips to local viewing points that didn't involve any walking so I could still see and photograph the wonderful hummingbirds, toucans, tanagers and other beautiful birds and local wildlife. I was trying to raise the ankle and rest as much as possible, so the balcony of our King Suite Room was a perfect retreat and we saw and photographed so many beautiful birds from there as well, in the sun and the rain! All the rooms look out onto this wonderful environment with birds and stunning scenery all around. The way the hotel is landscaped is fantastic with so many beautiful plants attracting a plethora of butterflies and birds. The staff were very happy to bring food to our room to save me hobbling downstairs, provided ice for the ankle constantly and pillows to raise it at night. Everyone we met at Terrazas were kind and helpful. The food was excellent and the breakfasts plentiful, including local food with almost all being home made including a carrot and pineapple jam! We liked everything about this hotel - the food, service, the environment and most of all the staff and people who run the hotel.

“Very Good Hotel ;-)”

We stayed at Las Terrazas de Dana for 4 nights. It is a real oasis! Our room with the terrace was very nice. The garden is beautifully landscaped and you can watch hummingbirds and other beautiful birds from your own terrace. The breakfast is rich and delicious. David is very helpful and friendly. Marco and Freddy are also always concerned about the well-being of the guests. The whole staff is very friendly. We had also booked a bird tour through David. The tour with our guide Natalie was very good. We were able to see many birds. David also arranged cab transportation to the airport for us. The cab ride was pleasant and relaxing. We would definitely book this accommodation again and can only recommend it.

“BEST accommodation in Mindo”

This is one of the best hotels we stayed ever. Marco is super kind, helpful and very passionate about this place and everyone that is coming there. If you go to Mindo you HAVE to stay there! The pool area is very nice, the food is delicious, it‘s even in walking distance to the city center and the cable car to do some great hikes. Marco will also support you planning your days.
