“Great balcony for watching birds”

Amazing balcony overlooking trees which was great for looking at birds. Staff were friendly and was around 20 min walk down into town (25 back up!) or you can get a moto taxi!

The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. The terrace is absolutely stunning. Excellent value for money + supporting a local family owned business.

Beautiful terrace for watching birdlife and eating breakfast etc. Delicious, generous breakfasts. Room clean and comfortable.

I liked everything waking up to the view eating a really good breakfast on the terrace. The location was excellent, but for me, the best thing was the staff and Julio, the owner they catered for my every need was so helpful and friendly. I will definitely return and can't recommend enough

“Perfect stay!”

The place is a paradise hidden in the middle of the mountains with incredible views, great bird spotting and beautiful quiet and private river spot. Thank you so much, we had an amazing time!

“Good for people who love nature and are not too exact with cleanliness”

“Perfect setting”

The setting was beautiful; perfect. It was peaceful with birdfeeders attracting all kinds of birds - lots of hummingbirds and even saw a toucan. Staff were attentive and friendly and my room was extremely clean.

“The terrace !”

The terrace is nice with a fantastic view on the forest. Good breakfast.

The best things about this place is the view and the staff. The valley below is gorgeous, especially in the morning. José was a great host and helped us out with various questions throughout our stay. The Hostal has a very friendly vibe. I also recommend visiting the waterfalls in the area, especially Cascada Perdida and Oido del Mundo which are less crowded.

An amazing place to stay and at a reasonable price. The family who run it are so welcoming and helpful and really do everything they can to make your stay as good as possible. The location and view from the terrace are idyllic.

We had such a great stay at Hostal Alto de la Montana. the view from the terrace is unbelievable, and the hoste are super nice, they even showed us some toucans with the binoculars!

“Fantastic hostal with wonderful view”

The family that runs this hostal makes you feel so welcome. The fantastic view from the communal terrasse. The hammocks The nice and not expensive food. The beautiful, modern rooms with great decoration. The care of everything.

The view from the terrace is outstanding! There are binoculars you can use to spot birds. The owner helped to spot some toucans, and there are feeders for hummingbirds so you can constantly see them.

“Lovely stay with mountain views”

We loved relaxing on the balcony of this comfortable stay. The view of the mountains was stunning. The staff were super kind and helped us a lot. We liked using their private path to the river to swim. All of the food we ate here was delicious! The location was close to Pozo Azul and other waterfalls we didn't visit. We found the walk to Minca town took about 25 minutes with our kids, but on the way we spotted howler monkeys one day.

“Grwat value for money, beautiful surroundings. Great place to stay”

Lovely little property about 1km away from town. The family are absolutely lovely and very welcoming. Breakfast was simple but did the job. the views are incredible and you can sit for hours watching the birds, and trying to spot toucans. The room was clean and spacious.

Really nice quiet place 10 min outside of Minca, great view from their terrace and really friendly staff.
