“Great winter lodge for family with young children.”
Everything is beyond expectations - wonderful staff, great organisation, tasty food, nostalgic music videos in the bar, clean facilities.. There is even a downhill shortcut to the hotel from Hatsukaishi Ski Slopes behind Twin Tower Hotel Ishiuchi!!! Great stay for family with young children!

Here’s a natural, balanced review you can post: ⸻ ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ I had a lovely stay at this lodge in Ishiuchi-Maruyama during ski season. The staff were genuinely warm, helpful and made the whole experience feel very welcoming — it really added to the cosy lodge vibe after a long day on the slopes. One of the best parts is the location — it’s conveniently close to a ski lift, and there’s also a shuttle bus that connects you to a larger ski area, which makes getting around super easy without needing a car. If you’re looking for a comfortable, cosy and good-value place to stay while skiing in Ishiuchi-Maruyama, I’d definitely recommend this lodge. It’s not luxury, but it has heart, warmth, and great access to the slopes — which is what really matters on a ski trip.

“Lovely”
We loved our stay at Tonbo. The rooms are clean and confortable, the common bath is very clean and kept well cleaned with 10min break between each reservation. The dry room is a plus after a day skiing. We really appreciated the common area (ie the dinning room) with a nice fireplace and bar. The staff is lovely and really keen to help (pick up at the train station etc). The hotel's situation is perfect at 5' walking from the ski lift. Heat is provided by the usual gas stove but you can use the A/C heater as well (which I prefer).

Stafs were very helpful, providing me with a lot of assistance during my stay. They spoke multiple languages and helped me communicate with others over the phone. They even helped me recover an item I had lost at the airport. I'm really grateful! ><

The staffs are very helpful and friendly as they will try their best to help you, you can reserve their pick up service to other ski resort or JR station. The location is good for people who go to the Hatsukaishi entrance(one of the entrance of Ishiuchimaruyama),it takes 5mins only! And we love the hot spring so much!! Two female bathrooms, the big one is for 5 ppl and the small one is for 2 ppl, both bathrooms have Japanese home style hot spring. But it’s enough for relaxing after skiing. All the toilets and bathrooms are clean. But you have to reserve the bathroom time first as it’s public bathroom for all guests to share. They also provide discounts for guests to buy tickets of Ishiuchimaruyama ski resort.
