Our host Patrick was fantastic, always willing to help and give us pointers. Location was perfect and the caravan suited our needs, especially with the garden space and bbq.

The location is great, private but close to the centre of town. Patrick, the owner, is a charming host and an interesting person and it was a pleasure to meet him. The caravan is well-equipped and comfortable, and the shower worked perfectly. We'd happily go back!

As always the welcome was warm. Patrick is a great host, very friendly and treated us to champagne and chocolates on Christmas. The roulette is very cosy, easy to heat and all you need for cooking is available. It is only a short walk to Milly centre. Beds are comfortable and the place is very clean. The bathroom is small but the shower is really nice. We had a great time.

“Hospitable and charming”

This small house is in a beautiful garden. It was well apppinted, containing everything we could have wanted to make us comfortable - we especially appreciated the Nespresso machine. Patrick had bouldering pads and guide books to lend to us which made it easy for us to visit the blocs without having to go to a rental shop. We were made to feel at home and enjoyed the time we spent here.

What's not to like? The accommodation was lovely and homely, it had everything we needed and more. The host Patrick was warm and kind, very attentive hosting without being over the top, great local knowledge and very green fingers - the grounds of the hosts garden are gorgeous. We were given fresh apples from the tree, homemade prune (plum) jam, and he brought us fresh croissants on the day of our leaving (very sad we missed those - sorry Patrick!). The cabin has good kitchen ameneties for the size of the place, with lovely crockery and good pans etc, it boasts an excellent shower (perfect for getting all that chalk out of our hair) and a fantastic level of heating - nice and cosy on those crisp forest nights. There is a good quality BBQ, seating and sun area with a side access for quiet nights. We were also offered spare bouldering crash pads by Patrick, which as a boulderer is a massive plus, and they have bikes available too. Extra points for the recycling facilities. Milly-la-Foret itself needs no introduction - it's a stunning village full of friendly people, great patisseries, a stunning market, decent bars, cool local-owned shops, stunning architecture and is a 5* basecamp for any boulderer, hiker, horse rider, art trailer or just someone looking for a quiet and beautiful place to escape the rat race. It's truly one of my favourite places to be in the world.
