We recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming accommodation in cabaña, and it was an unforgettable experience. The location is simply perfect. The host Luis was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced our stay. “Hidden Gem”

Last month, we embarked on a lengthy journey by car from Warsaw, Poland, to Cantabria, Spain. Despite our extensive travel experience, this was our first adventure of such duration. The journey was marked by numerous hotel stays and the added challenge of traveling with our dog. Upon arriving in Cantabria, our primary wish was to find serene and restful accommodation away from the bustling tourist spots—a common scene in Spain during summer. I was delighted to find out that our expectations were not only met but exceeded and that Luís' cabin in Miengo perfectly met our needs. Luís, our host, wasn’t just welcoming; he knew everything about the area. Even before we came, he sent us all the tips we needed, making it easy to explore without constantly looking things up. When we arrived, he met us in person and accompanied us to the cabin, a place so immaculately hidden that even Google Maps sometimes fails to lead you to the correct location. Despite that, the cabin is ideally located in Cantabria, just a half-hour drive from both the bustling city of Santander, with its rich dining and cultural scene, and the rugged beaches of Costa Quebrada. Nearby, Roballera Beach offered a quiet spot where the river meets the Bay of Biscay, changing with the tides. Cantabria was a refreshing change from the more typical tourist destinations in Spain. The cooler climate and quieter beaches were perfect for relaxing. We enjoyed tranquil mornings by the sea, afternoon kayaking, and local cuisine in the evenings. While it occasionally drizzled, the cooler weather was a welcome break from the Warsaw heatwave. Although packing a light jacket with a hood would be wise when traveling to Cantabria, visitors can still expect to tan well, as sunny days are more frequent than one might think.

Absolutely beautiful property. Peaceful, quiet and host welcoming and accomodating. The surroundings offer many outdoor spaces incubi g multiple dining areas, an excellent bbq and a beautiful private fire pit. Beach just a short 10 minute walk along a beautiful path. Stay here if you can. It’s a fairytale experience with all basics supplied including coffee, cakes, fruit!

This place is absolutely off the scale - 10 points is not enough to reflect its uniqueness. A fairy-tale grove on the shore of the bay, away from the hustle and bustle of the crazy world, hides a small wooden house, which lets you simply be there - in childlike wonder. You can admire the diverse surroundings from kayaks or while hiking through meadows, cliffs and amazing beaches. You can dine in the garden, listening to the birds singing and the splashes of a waterfall. Or visit one of the nearby restaurants serving local cuisine. You can also choose one of numerous nearby attractions - for example visit famous Altamira, try to escape out of the plant maze or take a stroll through the charming streets of medieval Santillana del Mar. The cheerful and very friendly host will give you advice about everything and more, so that you may spend your time just like you want and need. …and in the evening you can quietly gaze into the burning fire and stars shining above this magical place. Our stay was definitely too short to enjoy the tranquility and uniqueness of this place. We will come back.
