“Great stay with nice sunset”

Great place to camp. Beautiful stars and good food and service. Can walk to the dunes to watch sunset and sunrise. Can bring own car which is great. Once book, message him on WhatsApp and he’ll arrange to meet at petrol station. He goes into our car and show us the way. He speaks English, Italian, French, Arabic and Spanish pretty fluently! He learnt from all the tourist! How amazing. Very smart man.

“Great value for money - expect wild camping”

We went overnight wild camping out at the dunes. We arrived late morning and went to the permanent camp for lunch, then once 4x4 was loaded we headed off into the desert. Larbi was extremely knowledgeable and always making sure we were looked after. The camp was well selected close to the dunes, which allowed us to get great sunset and sunrise time at the dunes, with minimal walking. Unfortunately it was windy so the tagine had to be cooked inside the tent, which made the tent hot and made sleeping difficult, but that’s camping in the wild for you. The food was great and plentiful!

“A beautiful way to experience desert”

The camp is very intimate and silent, right next to beautiful dunes. The tents are very nice and comfortable, and the food is delicious and plentiful. But the most important part is Larbi, who is by no means a typical desert guide. He has spent his whole life in the desert and you can feel that he really loves the place. Experiencing the desert with him gives you a much deeper understanding and appreciation of both its beauty and the everyday hardships of desert life. He is truly gentle and warm, a pleasure to spend time with. He doesn't offer you a cliché of nomadic life, but instead very openly shares his deep connection with the desert, which is almost contagious. We have never met anyone like him before and are really grateful that he welcomed us with open arms and shared his world with us. We also went with him to the big dunes of Erg Chigaga for a very fair price, and the experience is hard to describe with words. We warmly recommend Larbi to everyone who is willing to visit the desert with an open mind and wants a more authentic experience of nature, away from classical tourist excursions. For us, it was an experience we will never forget, and we are already making plans to return.

we had a very welcoming and caring host who gave us a wonderful experience. as three young woman alone in the desert he made us feel very safe and we could really experience the beautiful dunes in peace and learned a lot. in the evening we enjoyed a very tasty dinner together. afterwards his friend and brother joined us and we sat around the fire, talked and sang together. his brother then took us for a short walk through the dunes to look at the beautiful stars. although the night in the desert is cold, in the tents it was fine and our host made sure that we hade enough blankets. the morning was super relaxed, we could sleep in and hade an also very tasty breakfast at what ever time we woke up.

It was a fantastic experience. Larbi and his brother were amazing hosts. They will take care of you and provide unforgettable hospitality. The camp can be reached easily with a dirt road, even with our faithful Kia Picanto, in 45 minutes from Tagounite. Larbi will show you the way and offer to drive if you don't feel comfortable driving yourself. Once we arrived, we also arranged for a trip to Er Chigaga from the camp, which was amazing. We left at 8 the next day and returned by 1 pm. Don't forget some warm clothes for the evening and water. With the breathtaking stars, the sunrise in the desert, the amazing food and the stories of Berber life, this has truly been an unforgettable experience.

The host and staff were very friendly, flexible and shared so much knowledge with us. The dunes around were huge and the mountains were perfect to fin ourselves while hiking.

“Desert magic”

Truly amazing place in the entrance to the Sahara. The camp is 15 minutes from Tagounite , so you really fell the desert vibe, the silence is pure magic, And Larbi the owner is incredible person, always helping and make you feel like home . Breakfast is good, and in the night Larbi and his brother makes the best tajines. I totally recomend this place if your looking to recconect with yourself and live the desert life. 10 out of 10.
