We had a wonderful time with Aziz and Hassan. The riad is very authentic as well as the atmosphere. Hassan prepared a lovely breakfast every day and even dinner if you want. Aziz is a very pleasant guide who can show you a lot about the desert.

Original mudbuilt riad on the very edge of the Sahara desert....with hot water and WiFi...Nice breakfast and great evening meal....you can sleep on the roof under the desert sky if you wish..

We had an amazing stay with Aziz and Hassan, Aziz picked us up from the bus stop when we arrived late and Hassan prepared us a fantastic dinner as we hadn’t eaten all day! The room was lovely, we stayed in summer (mid July) so they prepared us a bed on the terrace for the breeze which was great. Aziz runs tours in the desert so you can plan everything with him, he speaks great English which made communication very easy.

“Authentic (basic) clay/straw riad with superb hosts”

Aziz and his brother Hassan took great care of us. Hassan made our stay at the basic riad comfortable. Aziz arranged a great excursion for us to Erg Chegaga. Azis can arrange everything for you: dromedaris rides /(multi-day) hikes / support vehicle for motorcycle exploration through dunes with bivac and fuel. I even think Aziz could arrange a Sahara sky dive for you! Please mind that the Riad is authentic straw/clay build and a basic accomodation with shared bathroom and toilet. Please do not expect marble bathroom decoration. Do expect a CLEAN accomodation as Hassan made sure everything is clean and the food is good.

The owners are two brothers both super nice, they built this amazing place and made it even more special with their work and kindness! Super recommend, is a little corner of paradise! Also they came and pick us up at the bus stop with their car which was super nice and made us diner even if we arrived quite late:)

Really nice hosts which are interested in their guests :) The building looks really nice and it was really easy to get in touch with the other guests 😊 There is enough space to sit together and also separated. It felt like home for us 😊

“Special Experience”

It Was a very special experience for us to stay in the desert. Aziz gave us the possibility to feel the tranquility and vastness in the open space of the desert. The feeling of freedom and peace in the mind. Reconnect with the pure energy of nature....the stars, the dunes, the animals and the experience of the Camping in a still non touristic environment. And It is feelable that aziz still carries this energy within himself. Thank you, Aziz!

“Unforgettable Experience”

Aziz is the most lovely host, and so are the friends he works with. His kindness exceeded all expectations. He shared his knowledge of the desert and his culture with great patience and generosity. One of the things I loved about our stay is that it was very local and authentic. It is not a big business, it is Aziz working with people he knows and trusts, to create the desert experience you are looking for. I would highly recommend spending at least 4 nights: 1st night at Aziz's place in M'Hamid, 2 nights at the big dune's camp and one night to wrap it up at Aziz's again. Aziz's place is on the edge of the village, so not in the hustle-bustle of the center, but still only 5-10 min away from it by foot. His house is very homey, pretty and comfortable. Aziz even cooked us a homemade vegetarian lunch! And we got to meet Kashba the cat! The next day, on the way to the big dunes, we stopped at an oasis, and while waiting for our lunch (which was delicious) Aziz called (yes, called) a baby goat for us to pet and play with. He even found a sand fish (type of lizard) for us once at the dunes. The guys running the big dunes camp were absolutely lovely as well - they offered better service and food than in many city places! The tents are comfortable, the bathrooms are clean and the place to hang out outside surprisingly pretty and tidy (keeping in mind it's the desert, they cannot perform miracles with the sand either!). And you can add to the trip by taking a camel ride in the big dunes. Or decide to sleep on the dune wrapped up in a blanket, as I did! All in all, a lovely experience, I hope I can come back! Aziz is very flexible, so if you have something different than what I described in mind, please let him know and I am sure he will find something to fit your needs. Cheers!

“great experience”

I was a guest in 2022 and I was very happy to return recently, this time for two weeks. Aziz is a wonderful host. He is a kind and enjoyable to spend time with, and makes sure guests are happy every day. His brother Hassan works with him, making and serving breakfast, and as a co-host. Aziz and Hassan grew up in the desert with their nomadic family (parents, seven children, and extended family of around 50). When Aziz was seven and Hassan was five, the family gave up nomadic living and settled down in Mhamid where they still live. I'm so glad I could make that trip with Aziz last week. I was surprised by how much foliage there is in some parts of the desert. We saw many goats, wild ostrich and camels, and beautiful sunsets. We went to a great desert camp, did a camel ride into the dunes and enjoyed the beauty of the Sahara, spectacular dunes, solitude, and so many photo ops. I will never forget my desert experience with Aziz.

We had a very special time staying at Mohamed's place, right at the end of town, bordering the desert. He welcomed us with a lovely vegetarian dinner. The next day we went on a 2 day desert trip that he organised for us. It was a memorable experience, walking, riding camels, driving a 4x4, right into what felt the deep desert. A very authentic experience, lovely company, incredible scenery. Highly recommended!

“Great desert trip with Aziz”

Aziz made me feel very welcome. He met me in the village of M'hamid El Ghizlane with his moped and directed me with my car to his riad. His place is very comfortable & clean. His food he cooks with fresh ingredients from the village is amazing, I love all the Moroccan Food. The bed is very comfortable and being a lone traveller I felt very safe there. It's a little village about 1hr minutes drive from Zagora, and the scenic drive is amazing. Aziz arranged a desert trip for me with lovely food in the oasis with palm trees and goats. I Enjoyed my visit a lot and lovely to spend time on the rooftop at night in the cool air and watch the stars. Aziz is a lovely polite young man with an amazing story to tell. thank you so much Aziz for the experience, the company and the lovely food. Would highly recommend a visit to aziz's Riad.
