“A peaceful and authentic desert experience”

Our experience at Chant du Sable was smooth and stress-free from the very beginning. Communication before arrival was excellent: Ayoub, who handled our messages, answered all our questions clearly and promptly, which made us feel confident and well prepared. The meeting point on the day was easy to find, with safe parking available for our rental car. The drive to the camp takes about 40 minutes—neither too short nor too long, and it already feels like part of the adventure. Although it might be possible to reach the camp with a normal car, some sections of the track are quite rough and signage is limited, so I’d recommend using their 4x4 pickup service. The location of the camp is exceptional: sand dunes rise directly in front of the tents, and no other camps are visible nearby. This creates a wonderful sense of immersion in the desert and total quietness. We were warmly welcomed with generous servings of mint tea and cookies upon arrival. In front of the spacious dining and living building, there is a carpeted outdoor “desert salon,” where you can relax comfortably while looking at the dunes. The camp has only a small number of tents, well spaced apart, which ensures privacy and a very peaceful atmosphere. The tents themselves are simple but spacious. There is no heating inside the tents, but plenty of thick blankets were provided, and we slept very well despite the cold night. If you need to charge your devices, the staff are very helpful: when we asked, they kindly charged our phones for us in the kitchen area during dinner. The shared bathroom facilities are in a separate building and were always very clean, thanks to the staff’s constant care. A shower is also available. Before dinner, there are optional activities such as camel rides. We chose a 4x4 drive to a sunset viewpoint, which was an extra cost but very reasonably priced and absolutely worth it. Dinner was a homemade tajine prepared by the staff—very tasty and generous in portion.

Very nice location in the middle of the desert. The staff is very friendly and the food provided very good. We had dinner and breakfast at the terrace with a great view. We slept outside in front of tent with view to the stars and Milky Way. Shared bathroom in separate building with toilet and shower very clean and functional. They played in the evening traditional music at open fire pit. We had a half day tour to the desert with Erhfil seeing Gazelle and ostrich. Daughter could sit on top of Land Rover for part of the trip. Enjoyed much. Watching sunset from a top of a dune. Great. Can always recommend to stay at this location with the family.

“Stunning landscapes and wonderful people!”

We spent two wonderful days in the desert right in the middle of summer. We were picked up on time at the roadside and drove to the camp with our own car (not a 4x4). The food was delicious, the camel ride great fun, and the 4-hour trip into the desert with the Defender was an exciting and varied experience. Our hosts took attentive care of us, shared many insights about life on the edge of the desert, and made our stay truly special. In the evening, they set up a sleeping area for us under the open sky.

The location is amazing. We could see the desert from our tent and take a 5 minutes walk to get between the dunes. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The staff know how to welcome you. We will keep good memories from the food and the camp fire with music. Our kids (9 and 11) loved it and would love to come back.

“Perfect calm stay”

We chose this accommodation in the desert based on the excellent reviews and ratings, and it truly exceeded our expectations. Everything was perfect! Our hosts picked us up, showed us around, and made us feel at home. The dinner and breakfast were outstanding, with so much delicious food. We had a great time sitting under the open sky. The bed was very comfortable for the night. I highly recommend this place—it’s top-notch and truly amazing! Big thanks to Ikhlef and Hassan.

“The absolutely BEST Berber camp!”

If it were possible to give more than a 10 out of 10, we absolutely would! Hassan and Ikhlef were simply phenomenal. From the moment we arrived, they took fantastic care of us—and trust me, that’s really saying something since we visited the desert in July when it’s extremely hot. The food was top-notch, all thanks to Hassan’s excellent cooking skills. They kept the bedding immaculate and even set up an outdoor bed for us every evening. Sleeping under the stars was a magical experience I'll always remember. The sand dunes are 20 meters from the camp, ideal for a morning walk, some meditation, yoga, or just to sit back and watch camels slowly passing by on the horizon. Access to the camp was straightforward, even in a Kia Picanto. The toilet facilities were spotless, and they were always ready to help with anything we needed.

It was a good experience to sleep on the desert and see the dunes all around.

The camp is perfectly located, easy to get to but with a great view of the sand dunes. I was even picked up from Tagounite by car because I arrived by taxi. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and you feel very comfortable. The tajine was one of the tastiest I had during my stay in Morocco. Highly recommended!
