“Wonderful venue, wonderful hosts.”

We stayed in Maison Hirondelles on our way down to the Lot region and again on the way back a week later. It is difficult not to wax too lyrical about this charming, elegant venue which my partner and I both loved. To the English, the house has a Victorian feel and is beautifully furnished throughout with large very comfortable beds in the 3 letting bedrooms. We loved the bedding so much, we asked for the make of the pillows ! We had dinner and breakfast on each occasion. The food was delicious and amazing value and the table beautifully set. A lovely garden and pool, and good parking were added bonuses. What makes this place so special however, were our two hosts, Tress and Patrick. She designs, he cooks and they both welcome and care for their guests. We enjoyed wonderful talks with them over a drink or a cuppa which enhanced our holiday and made us feel very relaxed. We noted however their sensitivity and responsiveness to our needs and wishes so that guests who wished to not be so “chatty” as we were, would still feel very much at home. Of all the lovely places we stayed in France, this remained our favourite to which we hope to return.

Our most hospitable and attentive owners, Tress and Patrick, are dedicated in their commitment to give their guests the best experience possible. The house has been tastefully restored to a very high standard in decoration with comfort in mind combining old, and new where required. The rooms are lovely and well equipped. Linens are high end. There is everything you need. We had ordered a meal on first booking and we were not disappointed. Three courses all cooked and presented with care. The breakfast was amazing. The house, furnishings, hosts and the setting are second to none. I can't give more than 10, but Tress and Patrick deserve it. Exceptional and outstanding.

A Truly Wonderful Stay Our stay at this beautiful bespoke hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The setting exudes pure elegance, and the surroundings are just stunning. The rooms were both beautiful and incredibly comfortable, with every detail thoughtfully catered for. Breakfast each morning was plentiful, with an amazing selection of delicious food to choose from. A special thank you to Patrick and Tress, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome – nothing was too much trouble for them. We will most definitely be back. Everything about Maison Hirondelles exudes quality. The property has been carefully and tastefully restored, the furnishing is exquisite and the attention to detail is exceptional. Tress and Paddy were the perfect hosts always making sure that our stay was as perfect as it could be. And if you stay at Hirondelles make sure you dine in as Paddy’s cooking is simply superb. We certainly intend to return next year.

We really enjoyed our stay. Fantastic hosts, beautiful bedroom, lovely dinner and breakfast and a lovely pool. We had a long day travelling and it was so nice to relax with a complimentary glass of wine with our early evening swim. Patrick and Tres made us feel very welcome and Patrick even helped us check our tyre pressure before we left. And yes - there were swallows nesting in the barn!

The hosts were wonderful, so friendly and really seemed to care about our stay - they couldn’t do enough for us. The breakfast was great, the hosts setup you up in a lovey little room with pastries, yoghurts, fresh fruit, muesli, fresh juices, jams, honey, tea and coffee. They always asked if there were any personal things we’d like and whilst we were happy with the selection we’re sure they’d have made a point of getting whatever we asked for! We stayed in a room in the private house but we were also shown the gites which were vary spacious and looked great for families. The local village was quite sleepy but it had a boulangerie and cafe so you could get essentials.

Tress and Paddy are the perfect hosts. Breakfast was delicious, dinner was great, the house is amazing. No trouble was ever too much. If we were to visit te region again, we’d definitely stay there again.

What a little gem this was! The food was excellent, the room was exceptional and I can't fault the hosts.I would definitely recommend you stay here.If we are ever anywhere near we will be going back. Terrific value for money!!

“Perfect”

This exceeded all our expectations. Everything about it was amazing, the owners were so warm, welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The meals were comparable with Michelin star. We will stay there again without any hesitation but for longer- one night is far too short.

We loved staying in the main house with its careful interior detailing. Such a nice place to relax with its silent surroundings, only some swooping swallows over the pool and lovely old cracking floors. Tress and Patrick took care of every detail, fantastic breakfast with superb bread and croissants, and they poured so much energy in cooking us the best dinners with heaps of wine. Tress and Patrick are very passionate!

It was absolutely perfect! Every detail was attended to, even tiny lavender flowers on the towels in the bathroom. The property and pool were delightful, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Patrick and Tress were so welcoming, we wished we’d booked for longer. And the evening meals! Fabulous! What more can I say?

Our room was beautiful; light, spacious and comfortable , with a large, well equipped bathroom and the thickest, softest towels and dressing gowns we’ve ever had. Dinner in the lovely dining room was delicious and breakfast so impressive that we took photos. And, of course, the pool- the icing on the cake! A memorable stay - we’ll be back!

I cannot praise Maison Hirondelles enough. From beginning to end the hotel & its hosts were just perfect. Every aspect exceeded my expectations, from the warm welcome from Tress & Patrick, the exquisite decor, the luxury bedding & towels, squeaky clean, beautiful pool & grounds. The breakfast was the most beautiful I have ever seen with so much attention to detail. We took dinner at the hotel cooked expertly by Patrick, the setting & the food were divine. I thoroughly recommend Maison Hirondelles - it will not disappoint. We were sad to leave & will definitely be back!

The property is beautiful, full of interesting features. The bedroom was extremely comfortable and extremely well decorated and maintained. Everything is supplied to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Top class toiletries, robes, slippers, iron, fan, also a selection of teas and coffees, biscuits, water and not forgetting the chocolates. The grounds are impressive with a very well maintained salt water swimming pool, very comfortable sun loungers and also a perfect outdoor dining area. We were very spoilt with a plentiful breakfast and evening meal of fresh local products and first class wine.
