“A lovely spacious and airy apartment in an historic chateau.”

We found the apartment to be a comfortable and modern yet sympathetic renovation of the first floor of an old chateau, other areas of which are set to be similarly updated, although this in no way impinged on our stay. The apartment is well equipped with all modern conveniences enabling one to self cater easily, and it is comfortably furnished and quiet so that a good night’s sleep is ensured. The position, just outside the town, is close to a supermarket and boulangerie and it is an easy walk into the centre. There is plenty to explore in the area around Meslay, we particularly liked Chateau-Gontier. Altogether this is a great rental and one which we would readily endorse.

Nothing we Were very unhappy on arrival in the evening to find the apartment was difficult going through dark corridors in a derelict chateau!! Then found going through one of the doors we found a large spiral staircase which was not in the description!! This not suitable or safe for two senior ladies to manage suitcases or return in the evening after days out due to insufficient lighting in the hall ways and the disrepair of the building. We felt very unsafe and frightened as there were no one else staying in the building. We had to leave the following morning and find other accommodation which ruined our holiday.
