Friendly host. Beautiful accommodation, with lots of stunning artwork and vintage furniture. The grounds were beautiful and in summer it would be wonderful to sit and relax in the garden. Breakfast consisted of homemade produce and was excellent quality. Quiet village location.

Merkem is a lovely village, very quiet. The property is adjacent to the church and has a lovely garden for guest use. We were blessed with fab weather so it was a godsend after a tiring day exploring Ypres and the surrounding area.

The welcoming reception, the spacious room and decoration. The wonderful guest lounge with a comprehensively stocked honesty bar. The very generous and high quality breakfast. Also the invitation to make up sandwiches for the day's walk. The garden was quite beautiful and very tranquil.

Everything, fantastic location, best breakfast ever, and most of it home grown and home made. Enough to make up a packed lunch with a bag provided. The garden was beutiful and with honesty bar, I sat outside with a bottle of red wine and listened to the birds. Just what I needed.

“A very thought through B&B”

Easy to park outside the large property which has a beautiful garden. From here the owners produce the apple juice for breakfast. The latter was wide ranging and plentiful and of very good quality from homemade jams and yoghurt to locally sources cheese, meat and bread. We also enjoyed the chunks of chocolate! The room was large with lovely ensuite and we enjoyed the local beer (via an honesty bar) which we drank in the guests seating area in the evening.

Easy parking and safe place to store our bikes. Interesting old building. The breakfast was superb with homemade and local produce.

Breakfast superb. Poached egg requested was perfect. All authentic home made produce. Good choice of teas.

Ok for our purpose, a one night stay en route from Luxembourg to Le Shuttle. Friendly host, great breakfast. Plenty of parking on the road outside.

“A fantastic B&B”

The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. She even offered us dinner as we were traveling by bike and all restaurants in the village were closed that day. The house and the garden was beautiful and the room was big and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding with homemade yoghurt, granola and applejuice, different kind of cheese from the neighbourhood, lots of fresh fruit and a lot more. It could not have been better.

Excellent location, magnificent house, cosy interior and furniture, royal breakfast serving regional and bio-products and food, beautiful garden, parking facilities in front of the B&B and most friendly hosts and last but not least there was Westvleteren Trappist Ale in the relaxation room 't Cafeetje'.
