“0/10. Unreliable and terrible service. Do not stay here”

Do not book with this property owner. The apartment was double booked. Upon arrival to the apartment and finding I was unable to access it, the owner did not engage appropriately nor attend to assess the issue for many hours. Upon eventual access to the apartment, it was discovered that a family with a baby and a dog were living there. As a solo female traveller this left in a very vulnerable and unsafe situation. I requested a refund from the owner for the booking, both directly and via booking.com, but the they have refused this and have ignored my complaint.

“Clean, stylish and cozy, what else would you want”

Cozy and very clean flat right in the city centre of Mechelen. Only the sofas were a bit dirty, but covered with a cloth, so it was alright. We were happy that there were two sofas! The huge kitchen seems to be rather new and is fully equipped with absolutely perfect stuff, really everything you need. I always bring my own things like a small sharp knife to cut fruits, but here everything was provided. The bed is great to sleep in, the bathroom very clean and modern, also separate from the loo, which is nice. The balcony is spacious and looks great, we just didn’t have the weather to use it. I suppose the noise (AC?) from the opposite building would be a bit annoying, but it wouldn’t really keep me from sitting outside in warm weather. The house is very quiet, you didn’t hear much from the neighbours, which we also appreciated. The windows close tightly and you cannot hear a sound from outside, which is great considering that the flat is located right in the centre of the town. To summarise: Very clean, stylish and useful interior, fully equipped and high quality kitchen, big balcony and perfectly located in the heart of Mechelen. To close, the communication with the landlord was also perfect. Friendly, generous and uncomplicated- just what you would expect from Belgians 😊 We will hopefully come back and stay there again.
