Location is good (really near to La Plaza Mall and McAllen´s International Airport), however, staff was not particularly nice (they were not rude either, just neutral). When we arrived, just beside our bedroom door, there were trash bags staff had not picked up yet, just beside the trash cans, so that was not nice. Hotel corridors didn´t have air conditioning, so the air was thick and warm when you went out of your room. Our floor´s ice machine didn´t work, so we had to get ice on another floor. Our toilet would not flush, so we had to ask to get it fixed. There were toothpicks just beside our beds when we first arrived, which indicated that the room had not been thoroughly cleaned for our arrival, and it was gross. There were also stains on our room´s carpet. Outside of our room, the carpet was lifted, so we stumbled 2 or 3 times when going in or out of our room. Breaksfat was supposed to be over at 9:30 in the mornings, but staff started closing the kitchen way before that, and they didn´t tell anybody in case they wanted to get more food before closing the kitchen, they just went ahead and closed. That is not a way to treat travelers. When you compare your experience at this hotel with the price they charge for staying with them, the experience turns rellay bad, really overpriced for the service they offer.

Hotel was good, especially for a Holiday Inn IHG hotels. We are used to their standards, so most of them meet the same standards wherever you are.

They were friendly, the room was very clean, it was convenient to the places I needed to go. I did not try the breakfast or the pool as I was too busy. I always need a fridge and microwave as I have to eat a special diet. Big roomy shower with good water pressure. Good AC. Close parking. The front desk looked up some local info I needed in about 5 seconds, just to be helpful.

Clean ... nice spacious / open lobby ... the pool and exercise area were very nice ... and the bed was comfortable ... appears to be a newer facility. Friendly staff Good location near the airport and close to several restaurants (big plus for business travel).

I thought that the breakfast could have been better with minimal extra effort. Coffee was not great. Foam plastic plates were really cheap and difficult to use. But staff were very nice and helpful.
