“Private charming bungalow for a very restful visit with a cute dipping pool”

We had a lovely large private and pretty bungalow with a mosquito netted bed and a large ceiling fan. Bonus: we had a small fridge! Plus there was a huge jug of water at the welcome bungalow so we could easily fill up our water bottles. We also had a small private patio with a hammock and a couple of chairs - and tucked on the backside a spot to hang our swimsuit and towels. There is no view but lots of lovely greenery around the small refreshing pool. Morning coffee was offered up. And our very informative host gave us plenty of info. This was a healthy 15 minute walk up a hill (the whole area is quite hilly) from one of the main streets in Mazunte - it is located right across the street from a cemetery (and if you walk past that you hit the trail for the look-out point) or if you walk past Cabana Amaia and down the hill you get taken to another beach (enroute there is a coffee shop, live theatre, a poetry corner and a couple of other spots to check out). You can step outside the gate from Cabana Amaia and just a 3-minute walk there is a small store for drinks and snacks; a cute restaurant that we did not check out, and just before sunset many people heading to the lookout Point or the Beach. And if you have a car, there is secure parking.

The hosts are amazing and very helpful. We found mazunte quite uncomfortable but this place was a nice oasis a small walk from the Main Street. The rooms are beautiful and the bed is very comfortable. Very nice small pool.

“Relaxing days in a tropical setting.”

Cabañas Amaia is located on a hill above Mazunte. The grounds of the cabañas are beautifully landscaped, with lots of lush green, flowers and shade. We loved to cool off in the small pool. The cabañas are very spacious and have a private feel to them. We enjoyed our stay very much.

This place exceeded our expectations. The Cabañas are beautifully kept, and the rooms were bigger than the photos indicate. Additionally, the location was perfectly placed at the intersection between the main beach, Punta Cometa and Playa Mermejita. We’ll be back!

We had a wonderful stay! The major highlights: having a pool to relax in (which was always quiet so felt like a private pool!); very friendly and helpful staff who provided recommendations and advice (and replied to any messages during our stay very promptly); well-located with quick access to two main beaches and a sunset viewpoint; next to a shop for supplies; only a short walk to the main street in Mazunte with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops; the property was peaceful and the rooms were shaded and cool. Would definitely stay again if we return!

STUNNING cabanas in Mazunte. Honestly, don’t read any future than this sentence…just book it. Immersed in nature, in the perfect location a few minutes walk into the action, the pool was a dream. Really super lovely owners as well. I totally fell in love with Mazunte, and this was the dream spot to enjoy it!

The cabins are incredible! Beautifully built and there are so many amazing details. They are also really private so you feel like you have the place to yourself. We loved an evening dip in the pool too. Great location! Julien gave us lots of great tips to make the most of our time there and it was the perfect base to explore other towns nearby.

“Secluded and private, lovely stay”

Super lovely place to stay. The cabin was impeccable and made with quality materials and eye for detail. It’s much nicer in reality than on the websites photos. Bed very comfortable, loved the little terrace and hammock outside. There is a locker for your valuables. The dipping pool was nice to cool off at the end of the day. The cabins are very secluded, it feels like you are the only guest there. Free drinking water and also tea and coffee in the mornings. The location is good: a little way up a side road from the main road, so it’s still close to bars and restaurants but far enough away to be very quiet. I’d say it’s maybe about five minutes walking to the main road. It is also opposite the trail head to the Punta Cometa, so it is easy to visit early in the morning for sunrise. The host was very friendly and helpful.

Peaceful, beautiful bungalows, spotlessly clean and extremely well maintained. Adriana and Julian are fantastic hosts and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. One of the best places we've stayed and won't forget it, can certainly recommend.

It might look as we have given standard tens, but this isn't the case. This cabana has really exceeded our expectations. It is'nt the cheapest of the area but what a wonderful place!! Julien & Andriana are very sympathic hosts and they do all they can to make your stay really prefect. Beautiful cabanas, an amazing garden and a very nice swimming pool. So nice to cool off in the pool several times a day! So, really guys, you've done an amzing job here and we will spread the word to our friends to stay with you if they come to Mexico.

Thank you Julien for a wonderful stay at your cabañas. We looked at lots of other hotels but chose Amaia because of all the great reviews, and we were not disappointed! Such a beautiful property. It's far enough away from Mazunte proper to have lots of peace and quiet, but close enough to enjoy everything that there is to do in the town. The property was immaculately clean, and the pool and outdoor shower was a lovely thing to come back to after a day on the beach. Julien is a brilliant host, who has a lot of care for the property and the surrounding area. It's the perfect place to stay in Mazunte. Do yourself a favour and book it!
