“Le velodrome the place to spend a night.”
Excellent spot, it's the fourth time we stayed at le velodrome and it was as good as the first time. Very professional management. A place highly recommended.

“Fabulous Compact Apartment and great value”
A great small apartment, recently renovated in a lovely art deco former cafe. We stayed for six nights and were struck by how intelligently designed it was. Everything worked well. The kitchenette had all we needed to prepare light meals. The bathroom and shower was excellent. Car parking was easy. The host was very welcoming and kindly offered to help with our bags to the second floor. Why Maubeuge? This property is off the beaten tourist track. As such, the apartments price represents excellent value for money. Maubeuge itself is a fairly industrial area with interesting ramparts dating back to Vaubin. It is well worth a walk around the ancient defences. Visit the excellent tourist office for helpful information on the town. Being near to the Belgian border, it was an easy drive to Brussels (75 mins). Nearby town Bavay (15 mins) has fabulous roman excavations. These are vast and amongst the best that we have visited. The museum there is great. The Belgian town of Ath (50 mins)is lovely. It has a museum with two roman boats discovered in the 1970s in the silt of a canal. Now fully preserved, they are mindblowing exhibits in terms of their age , design, and scale.

“Best place to stay in Maubeuge”
Very cosy and comfortable apartment. Everything was well organized and we were received by the host. The location is perfect with eating places within walking distance and safe next to the police station. Definitly a place to recommend and we will stay there again when we are in the area.

Lovely clean apartment, opposite the Hotel du Ville so very central. 200m walk from the zoo but very quiet. Just lovely place to stay.
