Good location, with a big supermarket located just steps away from the house. We bought fresh produce and cooked dinner for both nights. You can also get sashimi at half price after 7pm+.

Staff were friendly and accommodating (especially given our car broke down and we had to check in after hours!). The place was clean, spacious,, well-equipped and full of information on local attractions. Parking was easy - right in front of the property. It was also conveniently located - there was plenty of food within walking distance, as well as a supermarket right next door. Would definitely come back if we're in the area again!

Excellent accommodation, good size with separate lounge and kitchen area. Fully equipped and exceptionally clean . Owner and staff helpful . Large as have the whole cafe and bedroom . Private . Good base , supermarket next door and various eateries within walking distance .

“Unique and Charming”

Great location, opposite a supermarket and walking distance to laundry facilities and restaurants. The accommodation was very clean, spacious (4 beds, 2 toilets, shower, separate lounge and dining area, kitchen and a tatami room). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Easy and free carparking

Clean and well kept. Staff super helpful and all relevant information presented very clearly. Doesn’t hurt that it’s in local area right across a super market. The property also has a dedicated parking spot.

Other than what most people have already stated - friendly , welcoming staff, clean facilities, great location. What I love is the unique setup that fulfil a little dream of mine to be a cafe owner one-day. This is the closest it can get.... having your own cafe owner dream as a stay!

The hosts were amazing! They were really helpful and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The home was unique as it was previously a cafe and it was sparkling clean and very comfortable. Lovely children's books and magazines.

“Wonderful helpful staff, great location”

We had a wonderful stay at Cafe & Stay Castana. The room was so comfortable, with lovely Cafe facilities and directly across the road from the supermarket. The staff were exceptional, picking us up from the train station, and on our last morning, taking us to where we could store our backpacks at the train station before dropping us at Matsumoto castle (all without additional fees). I cannot recommend this accommodation enough, we wished we had stayed longer!

Hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful. Staying in a cafe was the coolest experience for our whole family. Great food options nearby, including a supermarket. This was the highlight of our 3 weeks in Japan.

We loved feeling like we were staying at a proper coffee shop. Everything was clean and made our stay super comfortable as a family of 5 :)

Staff was incredibly friendly. Appartement really spacious for Japanese standards, modern, clean, well equipped. Location not very near to train station, but easy (and affordable!) to catch a taxi at the train station. We came by car; free parking available. Quiet location, large supermarket nearby. Matsumoto is a great travellers' hub for day trips nearby.

The place is designed like a café, and the experience is exceptional. The hosts were very pleasant, and the space was spacious and clean.

Absolutely loved this place! After two weeks in hotels, this cozy home was the perfect reset, felt instantly at home. It has a private bedroom, a spacious living room with a fully equipped kitchen, and a traditional Japanese-style relaxation room. Kaneda and the staff were outstanding—picked us up, dropped us off, and made sure we had everything we needed. Warm, helpful, and incredibly welcoming. Supermarket just steps away, coin laundry nearby—super convenient and just what we needed. Highly recommand this place !

“Wonderful Cafe Stay”

The atmosphere was just like a cafe, with coffee and tea options, takeaway cups, and lots of magazines. The location was good too, across from a popular supermarket and close to several restaurants. The rooms were very clean too. The host was very friendly and warm.

Café and stay CASTANA was amazing! The house was extremely clean, the beds were comfortable to sleep in. Due to the fact the we were the only guests we had a good kitchen and dining table in the house that was available to us as well as a kitchen, that was nice and clean, And that gave us the opportunity the cook our own food.
