We had very nice stay in the hotel. The food was more than delicious and tasty and fresh. The pool is nice also with all these palm trees. There was entertainment every night and it was nice. Its very quiet and cozy. If you want to relax - this is your place!

Our stay was wonderful. The hotel is beautifully situated on the scenic east coast of Zanzibar, where the ocean views are absolutely stunning. The hotel itself has a quaint, authentic charm that makes it feel warm and welcoming. The staff are genuinely lovely, kind and friendly. They clean the rooms twice a day, which kept everything feeling fresh. The food was a la carte menu, it consisted of four courses for both lunch and dinner, with plenty of fresh fish for those who enjoy seafood. There was no shortage of activities, which made our stay even better. Throughout the day the hotel offers things like cooking classes, aqua aerobics, palm-leaf weaving, and even cocktail making, which was an unexpected surprise for us. There are plenty of beautiful photo opportunities around the property. A small note: the beaches in Zanzibar are open to everyone, and while interacting with the locals can be part of the charm, some may try to overcharge, so it’s good to stay mindful. Lastly, a special mention to Samuel in the restaurant and the two Omars from Kappa Club — they were our absolute favourites and truly elevated our experience. We would happily recommend AHG hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic Zanzibar getaway.

The hotel is perfect for those seeking relaxation and tranquility. The beach is stunning, the staff always friendly and helpful, and the cuisine is delicious. The rooms are meticulously cared for, and mine had a breathtaking view of the ocean. This hotel is ideal for a peaceful and restful holiday. I will definitely be returning.

“Disappointing, could and should be so much better.”

Truely disappointd in this hotel and experience. The pictures (website/IG and general reviews) are not a clear and true indication of the hotel. Food - not good quality/standard. You are limited to timings even if paying for an extra (coke not available for 2 mornings at breakfast, and then was on the last day !?) My question would be if you were paying All Inclusive would this be the same? For the most part the food was inedible, alot of the food presented was sent back as either burnt or looked so unappertising! The omelette for breakfast was nothing like the IG presentation (if l can add a picture l will, but very poor) also zero seasoning. Room - Not the room which we booked. Should have been a double sea view. Room presentation was not what was in the pictures and of a poor quality, example paint peeling from the ceiling. Why is the door handle for the balcony only on the inside and not the outside? Window in the bathroom did not close, an issue at night and early mornings (noise). Location - A long way from anywhere, especially as the hotel standard was so poor and the food inedible. Also this is a very busy public beach not a private as indicated with the pictures. Again the pictures indicate that the hotel is secluded but now there is a gathering area by the side of the hotel & a large gravel road next to the hotel. To be woken around 5.30am with the locals shouting at each other regarding setting up their boats for the day is not great. Staff - on the whole polite, but didn't really seem to know what was happening. Had two instances of the 'manager' speaking in a rude manner to both of us (seperately), especially frustating after the staff had tried to be helpful. General hotel condition - poor. It is looking very tired, generally clean but not good. Example dead plants on the bar area, left for several days.

“Great stay and great location.”

The people were incredibly friendly and helpful, great access to the beach and the entertainment especially the Masai and dancers/acrobats were incredible. Loved that the hotel had access to a tour company on site and the tours were private and the tour guides were informative, friendly and funny. Highly recommend Makhuti tours. Lunch and dinner was really good and I liked that it was al a carte.

“Lovely place to stay”

Loved the theme of the rooms gave me a real Zanzibar experience was a great sized room only downside no wardrobes but hey I managed with that! The restaurant was lovely and the staff were good. The hotel was generally kept clean regularly and the pool was lovely. The kappa club team were good - I did feel at times there was a lot more focus on the French speaking (especially towards the end of my trip) I did hear the manager telling some French guests that they had to accommodate all nationalities but at times I felt that this had been ignored. Having spent some time travelling I had hoped to be more involved with the animation team I know it’s difficult when you have to factor in all nations so although I feel (as mentioned) there was a lot of focus on the French speaking than others I didn’t let it ruin my time in Zanzibar. The food was amazing - I often had local food and due to only being able to consume small portion sizes I found that the staff accommodated my medical situation amazingly. I found the a la carte was amazing especially having stayed at many luxury all inclusive before it was nice to be in a paradise island and have a personal one to one approach. The pool was lovely and to be fair people complained about the beach boys but I never had an issue.

A Truly Wonderful Stay The property was absolutely beautiful and right on the beach, offering the most stunning views. The staff were amazing—so warm and attentive—and the meals were truly delicious. I had the most wonderful stay and hope to return again soon. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and scenic getaway.

A wonderful boutique hotel on the beach with a beautiful view of the sea. The staff is extremely kind and attentive. They do everything they can to make you feel comfortable, and they find a solution to your every request. The hotel manager is available at any time and helps you personally if you need it. The dinner is a 4-course menu, which can be chosen from a variety of very delicious dishes. The rooms and the pool area are extremely clean. By the end of our vacation, we felt like family members in this beautiful small hotel in Zanzibar. We would like to return.
