Just all round brilliant

Spacious accommodation in a quiet spot whilst still being a short walk to everything you need including the beach. We had a great stay here and the host family were very kind and welcoming. The food was great (both breakfast and dinner) and it was one of our favourite spots in Sri Lanka. We even had monkeys and peacocks walking past the accommodation.

Venu’s family is incredibly hospitable and kind. The apartment itself is very spacious with a kitchenette and a really nice balcony. The place is clean and well maintained, so we had everything we needed at our disposal. Breakfasts were delicious, and home-cooked lunches are also available at a very reasonable price. There’s also the option to do laundry for a small fee. The location is also very good, just a few minutes from the beach. I definitely recommend it.

Just all round brilliant

Absolutely amazing place, the family is just the loveliest and really made our stay so special. The room is beautiful and spacious, and the balcony is great for breakfast (which is delicious) and to watch the monkeys. Aircon is available for a small payment. They recently opened a restaurant downstairs and it’s a lovely spot to have a great dinner. We stayed here a whole week as it was so nice and we didn’t want to leave, can highly recommend staying here for a real Sri Lankan experience

“Just one night's stay and we left as friends”

The apartment is really clean and well equipped. The setting is ideal, with views over lush vegetation and just ten mins walk from a brilliant beach. We were made to feel like visiting family friends and joined our hosts on an outing and celebrated the Sri Lankan New Year with fireworks. We stayed in nine different places on our holiday in Sri Lanka and this stands out as exceptional value for money.

“Really cosy and clean apartment with lovely hosts”

Really great stay, very cosy and extremely clean. The family very sweet and caring, the breakfast served on the balcony was very delicious, the bathroom is well ventilated so there was no humidity issues and even though there is no AC, the fans were enough as the house is quite cool compared to other places we stayed. It’s tucked away from the main roads, but only 10min from the beach and 5min from nice cafes and restaurants. We extended one night but wish we would have stayed more.

The family were so kind and really welcoming. The room was more like an apt with a kitchen, separate bedroom, lounge area and cute little balcony. Breakfast was amazing and brought to us on the balcony. It was great value for money and nice and quiet too at night. We loved our stay here.

Such a lovely family, the breakfast was one of our favourites on our trip! Very large and comfortable room which felt very private.

“Wonderful!”

We had a lovely stay at Vinu’s place. The family are so kind and welcoming and helped us with anything we needed. It was a great location: a little further away from the main busy area but close enough to walk to the beach and cafes everyday. We had enough space for our family and the balcony was a great place to relax and watch the monkeys! The only thing we missed was AC in the bedroom as it could get quite hot but there were very few mosquitos here so we were able to leave out windows open. We loved staying at Vinu’s and 100% recommend it as as a base for exploring Hiri and Dickwella.

The family who run the home stay were LOVELY! So friendly and kind, and the breakfast was amazing every morning. Spacious room and very private, bit of a walk into town but we loved everything!

“Spacious flat and lovely host family, perfect homestay”

The flat is spacious with a beautiful balcony. It is well equipped with everything necessary (mosquito net, fridge, little kitchen, three beds…). It is located in a quiet backroad next to beautiful greenery with monkeys, squirrels and peacocks. The beach is easily reachable by walking around 10 Minutes. The breakfast was excellent and different every of the 5 days we stayed. We also had home-cooked dinner there which included some of the best rice and curry we had. It’s very good value for money. The host family is lovely and caring while giving you personal space according to your preference. We were traveling with our nine-month old baby and they were always happy to play with him and look after him while we were eating. It’s a real Homestay in the best way. We hope to be back one day.

The property has everything that you need. We had space to work, cook, and chill. It is located in a quiet place less than 10 minutes from the beach. But the best of everything was Vidu and his family, who were kind and welcomed us to their family🙏🏻

We loved our stay so much that we had to come back a second time! Vidu and his family embody all the best qualities of Sri Lankan hospitality and are generous and kind. They provide the most delicious complimentary Sri Lanka style breakfast feast every morning, served on the deck overlooking the jungle. The home is generous in size, private, with high quality bed linen and is stylishly decorated with everything you may need. It’s easy walking distance to the beach and cafes but nicely set back in the peace and quiet of the jungle. We celebrated a birthday during our stay and our hosts went above and beyond to create a special occasion, baking an incredibly delicious cake and decorating our deck. We left feeling like family - we can’t wait to visit again.
