back yard is really one of the best places I’ve stayed in whole Sri Lanka. On my arrival day I was welcomed by Tharaka (owner) and Anni (the manager) with a delicious fresh coconut. I directly felt like coming home! Also the rooms are super clean and nicely designed (which you rarely find in most of Sri Lankan accommodations). The best thing about this place is its location: aside from the busy streets and doctor’s house (party)area and just one minute walk away from one of the best Surf Points in South Sri Lanka (Madiha Main Point). On days where I wanted to discover the area I could rent a bicycle for only 500LKR. If you love good food, you can look forward to delicious breakfasts, lunch and dinners in the restaurant. They really understand how to combine local food with a fresh western touch. And the prices are more then fair! I recommend you to try the different Sambals they offer. So simple but soooo good! Like this you really get a taste of Sri Lankas variety. If you are vegan or have any food allergies: they still have many options for everyone. I also did a cooking class and learned a lot about the different local vegetables, types of curries and how to do the best egg hoppers.

Very nice place, 2 minutes walking from Madiha surf spot. The rooms are new, cozy and clean and the bed comfortable. The owner and staff are amazing people, helping the guests with absolutely everything. I love this place, 100% recommended!!
