The place has a nice view and you can see the entire mathale town from the balcony. The host was very friendly and made us very healthy and tasty brakefast. Good value for the money. Situated in a calm silent environment.

An amazing place with a stunning view! The host is incredibly attentive and always ready to help. The breakfast was delicious and, what's even better, served at a convenient time for me. They also provided me with a space for my training sessions, which is highly valuable to me as an athlete. Highly recommend!

Pearl and her husband made us instantly welcome in their lovely home in the hills overlooking Matale. We wish we could have stayed longer! We really enjoyed chatting to Pearl about the history of Matale and her school experiences growing up there. She cooked us a delicious evening meal and breakfast. And we enjoyed an evening walk up into the forest above the house. Thank you!

“I wish we had more time to stay longer.”

The property is up the hill from the town in a little in a quiet area with a beautiful view and a beautiful garden. We had a fabulous self contained apartment and Ranjan and his wife served a great breakfast. If we had more time it would make a great base to explore the nearby knuckles ranges and spice gardens.

Located on a hill above Matale with a wonderful view of the town and a beautiful garden. Clean room and bathroom, a cozy living room for shared use. The owners are very friendly and helpful. I took a wonderful tour to Riverston and the Knuckles Mountains with the owner. Fresh fruit and a Sri Lankan breakfast were provided. I highly recommend this accommodation.

“Home away from home”

Where to begin… there are so many wonderful things about this homestay! Pearl and Ranjan’s house is a beautiful place that felt like home as soon as we arrived. They looked after us with such warm, welcome and genuine hospitality, from advice on where to eat and what to see in town, to being taken on a guided tour of the surrounding area to see the various spices and fruits that grow here. We were given clear and precise information on how to reach viewpoints in Riverston by public transport (including a hand drawn map!) which was invaluable and a packed breakfast for the journey when we left in the early morning. The room is very cosy and comfortable with a good mosquito net, and we loved sitting on the terrace overlooking the mountain with a pot of tea. It’s a little climb up from town, but if you need there are many tuktuks in the area. You have to stay here when you come to Matale; you will be looked after and leave with new family and so much interesting knowledge on Sri Lanka and the local area. Thank you for having us!

Hosts were very nice and helpful. View from the terrace over Matale towards Knuckles Range is beautiful. Breakfast was excellent, best coconut rotis!! I can only recommend Pearls Homestay!

“Bright and roomy”

We loved how bright this homestay is, lots of natural light and high ceilings. The space is quite big, plenty of space if you are travelling with children. Modern bathroom with a decent shower. Nice breakfast was provided in the room.
