“Unforgettable stay”

Our stay at Riverside Lodge exceeded all expectations. Esti truly goes above and beyond, helping with everything from booking safaris to even getting painkillers when needed. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. Do yourself a favor and book your safaris at the hotel with Tian. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, but he also has an amazing ability to find all the animals. A big thank you to the whole team for making our trip unforgettable!

“Amazing”

We arrived at this beautiful very authentic African Lodge with fabulous structure and viewing balconies. Our room was very special, we had an outdoor nature shower on the balcony. Stunning. The staff were beyond nice. We meet the owners and they made us feel so at home. The animals surrounded the Lodge with a family of Zerbra in the garden, where we fed them. Amazing.. we only had 2 days but promised to be back. Very enjoyable.

Well maintained hotel with strong management.Esti is doing a good job there. Small number of rooms allows direct communication with guests via WhatsApp. Transfers, excursions and safari could be easily organised. Rooms are spacious with lots of useful/pleasant things in them, like cookies, some alcohol, moskito spray, etc. For early safari mornings lunch box is provided. Evening meal served at 6.30 p.m. on the terrace, all the guests together, so you can share the emotions after your day in Kruger. There is also a bar with adequate prices for wine and beer. The personnel is super friendly. Lots of animals around the lodge.The pool is small, didn't use it because of the rain. We went on safari with the lodge guide, Devon, who is very enthusiastic about his job and good with people, animals and technics. It was fun, and we did the big 5 in one day although all the dirt roads were closed, saw a lot during the rainy days and exited the park through the Crocodile Bridge before it was closed due to the flooding. Our Eswatini tour booked at the lodge also went smoothly. The location of the lodge is convenient for the Crocodile Bridge, the parking is available at the territory. Overall, highly recommend this place.

“Excellent, great-value home away from home with a lovely atmospheric 'bush' location.”

From the start of our 12 night stay, we received a very warm and friendly welcome from the lodge's excellent manager, Esti, the staff and the owners. The lodge has a family atmosphere and there are two large tables where you can meet other guests and dine and breakfast together, chatting about the animals you've seen on safari that day (though you can also find private space if you prefer to have time and eat on your own). The staff go out of their way to be helpful and accommodate your wishes, provide advice, and there are lots of free little extras like a decanter of sherry in your room, your car cleaned before you leave etc. The beds are clean and comfortable, with fresh towels every day. The breakfast and dinner were tasty and freshly home-cooked; they even provide take-away breakfast boxes for people leaving early to go on safari. The tours offered by the lodge's fun and informative in-house guide, Devon, were outstanding. The lodge is set in amongst forest and a minute's walk from the river. It's peaceful and relaxing, and the sound of the local animals adds to the 'safari' atmosphere. Every day, the lodge is visited by the local animals such as Impalas, Kudus, Zebras and Warthogs, who feed in the garden next to where you dine and sometimes 'beg' for a few extras! Every night, when the weather is dry, the staff make a campfire so that you can sit around eating your dessert under the stars while chatting to the other guests! A wonderful, well-run, great-value home away from home - we were never bored during our relaxing 12 night stay; we would definitely stay again! We're very grateful for the wonderful holiday memories that the lodge helped create!

Warmest welcoming, very accommodating, communicative and friendly. Delicious breakfast with Impalas entertaining us. Nice riverview from the upper terrace. Close to the gate of Marloth Park: only 15min to Croc. River Bridge Gate and 30min to Malelane Gate. We enjoyed it very much and will definitely come back.

“An experience you’ll remember forever”

Esti & the rest of the staff were amazing. They were friendly, very accommodating & truly made our stay comfortable & enjoyable. The food was delicious & expertly prepared & served. The animals grazing around the property was so magical - it almost felt like we were living in Kruger National Park. The game drive was awesome & between that and our self-drive, my husband got to see the Big Five over two days. An experience he’ll remember forever. The local restaurants & pubs were super & there’s a little town, Komatipoort, just 20mins away when we needed something out of the ordinary that we couldnt find in Marloth Park.

The peace and quietness

Best accommodation, the staff are very friendly , the food is excellent. We had a special request for dinner in order to celebrate our Father’s birthday and the setup was great, with a bottle of champagne and they even had cake ordered for us🥹my Father was more than happy , we went on the game drive and saw all big 5😜it was hard to leave this place. We will definitely come back again

“A special place on this planet”

Just an absolutely amazing place. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The manager, Esti, was amazing. She organised transfers to and from the lodge and our trips whilst we were there. Definitely go with the lodge trips and not an external organisation. Breakfast/breakfast box was provided plus a delicious evening meal. All the guests ate together in the evening and we had dessert around an outside fire which got everyone chatting and discussing their travels. I do a lot of travelling and I can only say that this place is very special. Thanks Esti and your fabulous staff.
