We loved our stay, we felt just like home and our room was very spacious, spotless and very cosy Charlie was a great host and lovely to talk to Definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Yosemite, it's about 1h drive to the park but Mariposa town is super cute and much better than staying inside the resorts inside the park

Very comfortable and having two ex Rangers as hosts was incredible. They were both so friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and fabulous company. The location was very convenient just an hours drive from the park entrance via West Arch.

Margaret and Charlie have a wonderful home and provide warm hospitality. The coffee, bread, and granola in the morning were especially appreciated! It's an ideal drive to Yosemite.

Wonderful place, far away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Margaret and Charlie are lovely hosts that help you find out how to make the most from your Yosemite and Sequoia visits. Their place helped me to relax after my hikes while enjoying the hummingbirds on the porch and wild turkeys in the backyard. Warmly recommended!

The hospitality and friendliness of Margaret and Charlie were top notch. They really made us feel at home. We loved our chats, their useful park recommendations and the facilities. We'd happily visit again and we were sad to leave.

The house has a wonderfull view. it's located in a very quiet place. The owners are very kind and they know Yosemite very well. They gave us a lot of advices to enjoy the park. The room was clean and confortable.

House was very easy to find and the location is exceptional. Morning views with sunrise amazing. Room was super clean, and the owners gave me many tips about California and my next stops. They also recomended restaurants nearby. The breakfast was nice too with homemade sourdough bread. Felt like home also with the other guests.

Great hosts with vast knowledge of the parks. Well located near Yosemite and far away from the big roads. We felt at home during our entire stay and would come back again.

“Beautiful and warm stay”

We stayed 4 nights and had such a lovely stay here during our visit of Yosemite. Margaret and Charlie were among the nicest hosts we ever had. We’ll always have warm memories of this place, from our meaningful conversations to the view of hummingbirds with the mountains in the background, to Charlie’s freshly homemade bread. On top of this they can tell you everything you need to know about the park and the environment. Take your time and stay here a few extra days, you won’t regret it.

The property was absolutely beautiful, a true home away from home. Margaret is the most wonderful host unfortunately Charlie was away when we were staying so we didn’t get to meet him, however if his sourdough bread is anything to go by he’s amazing too. You can tell how much love and effort has gone into this home, it it’s lovley and clean, the breakfast delicious and Margaret was so knowledgeable and helpful in providing information about Yosemite and we had some lovley conversations. Thank you for hosting part of our honeymoon, Morning Star Vista will always have a special place in our hearts. We will be back. Thank you Amy & Colin xx

Charlie and Margeret are great hosts!

Margaret and Charlie were really kind, attentive and helpful during all our stay. They even prepare breakfast for us when we had to leave the house earlier than normal. The house is amazing and our ensuite bedroom was simply perfect.

Nice house and comfortable bed. Margaret and Charlie are so welcoming. Nice discussions in the morning around the baker and the other guests 😉. Very friendly place.
