“Beautiful house and gardens”

Beautiful house and gardens - every bit at lovely as the pictures. Close enough to Manizales to get into town easily, but far enough away to be in the countryside.

This lodge is thoroughly deserving of its great reviews from previous guests. The location is magnificent yet within easy reach of Manizales. The cabins are located below the property amongst the trees with expansive views across the hills. All members of staff are so friendly and the breakfasts are particularly delicious. You could not wish for a more glorious and colourful location.

“A quality lodge just outside the city”

The location is incredible. We watched toucans and hummingbirds from the balcony. The French toast at breakfast was so good we had it all 3 mornings. We were surprised that the pool table was a decent size and standard.

Views, colibris watching, very calm property. Possibility to hike several kilometers on their property for beautiful nature scenery. The rooms were simple but enough. Breakfast were delicious

“An exceptional stay.”

The views from the lodge were second to none with so many different birds to spot just from the comfort of your room. The staff were very friendly and were genuinely happy to help and answer any queries. The food, especially the French toast for breakfast, was great. The hotel is a perfect way to engulf yourself in the nature and beauty of the mountains.

I had the most wonderful time in this beautiful property with astonishing gardens around. The hosts care very well and with lots of love and dedication to make their guests feel at home. I can highly recommend to stay there.

We have mixed feeling about our stay here. It is a very beautiful location with nice surroundings. However it was not easy for us as backpackers to reach the premises as its quite far from town and not all taxi drivers wanted to take us there nor did apps work to get a taxi come down to the location. There were no restaurants close by. The cottage where we were staying was nice but not very clean and had many insects that came in. Therefore we would strongly recommend a mosquito net so that you can sleep without worrying about that. All in all it is a nice accommodation with beautiful surroundings where you can walk, but we would only advise to go here if you are looking for a place to stay, relax and not do a lot of outings (or if you have your own transportation thats better).

We had an amazing stay in this Lodge, the views are stunning and they offer even some short private trails with a waterfall! The drive to Manizales is also quick, delicious food.. would definitely come back :)

Food was excellent, and the trails around the property were excellent. Viewing nature was fantastic. Very peaceful nature experience.

“Gorgeous hotel in a stunning location.”

The location is fantastic! The hotel is surrounded by forest, and we saw a rich variety of birds from our balcony. Our room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were cheerful and friendly.

“Above and beyond expectations”

They went above and beyond our expectations First of all this is a beautiful location with the most amazing garden including paths to walk along. Wonderful eye for detail in their decorations and how they set it all up. Second of all the staff was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately we had some food poisoning from a location before the staff were so helpful caring for us. Even making home made chicken soup! We spent 2 nights and a full day here (too sick to leave), and I actually enjoyed just hanging in the hammock and spotting the various birds come by. Definitely recommend this place for nature and bird lovers and people looking for a nice quiet place to stay.

“A paradise for nature lovers”

We specifically chose this place for the nature and birds. We stayed in the el Abismo bungalow. The bungalow is spacious, has its own wifi network and offers great panoramic views.I even spotted a tucanet from the bathroom window.It is furnished with care. The property is quite big, and has trails that lead you to unexpected hidden spots (e.g. a barbercue, or a small waterfall). A lot of effort has been put in landscaping with small ponds and water cascades, lots of flowers and plants. Some plants specifically attract humming birds. The spot is a bit out of the city and not well known to taxi drivers, but no worries-the hotel has its own trusted driver and the drives to the city are very reasonably priced! Staff is very helpful (although not all speak english). The restaurant offers limited, but tasty choice of meals. Highly recommend if you want to immerse yourself in nature!
