We had 3 beautiful days there, the host is great and welcoming. Going with the canoe to explore the river is fun and the food is super tasty. I went with my 12 year old daughter, it's a perfect place to take kids.

“Amazing”
The location was perfect and the journey was great, going through the Rio Negro it was very nice experience. The place was simple, cleaned and tidy. The reception was very nice with Lucas (we arrived a bit late but he was there) Raquel the employee of the Refúgio was very kind and friendly. Everything was great, the tour to meet the pink dolphin, the Indigenous community and the beach. I loved the experience of the jungle and the bathroom? Blow my mind! I loved it

“A beautiful stay in Mother Nature”
First of all - the beautiful owner is a gem! He was so accomodating, generous and kind. I have quite a few challenges with dietaries and it stresses me out a bit but he went above and beyond to ease my anxieties and the food that he prepared for us was DELICIOUS. He was attentive and very responsive. The eco hut was beautiful. Simply and rustic but it was perfect in the jungle. The outdoor shower was a dream. We loved how eco conscious the property was and how it aligned with our values. The nature surrounds us so beautiful. Overall we had an incredibly relaxing stay! Thank you so much!

“Beautiful stay, slightly overcharged”
It’s a beautiful place to stay both nature wise and facilities wise. People in the community are wonderful and you feel secluded without feeling too far away from Manaus. The staff, Tom and Lucas, were incredible and made the stay that much better. The jungle half day tour was really fun and that was organised by the hostel with a third party. We even got to see a film screening in the middle of the river with the hostel and that was really cool.

It was a pleasant and attentive experience. Gentle forest massage and sunset dip in the amazon were my highlights. I also had a good sleep!

“Cozy, family-run lodge that made us feel at home”
We stayed at the Refúgio for a weekend and we were the only guests on the site. Ana Ligia and her family welcomed us with open arms and did everything in their power to make us feel like home. The lodge is, as stated, quite rustic – so not for everyone. But for those who enjoy nature and being somewhere outside of the busy city life of Manaus, it's perfect. We especially loved the breakfast with açaí and lots of fresh fruit and the fish that Ana Ligia made for lunch. As a hostess, she also helped us when we missed our boat to get to the Refúgio and helped us as well on our way back. We really enjoyed our stay and, if we're in Manaus again, would definitely stay again!

“Great place to enjoy what the rainforest has to offer!”
The staff is friendly, the food is fantastic, and the location is just at the heart of the rainforest, which was exactly what I was looking for. Good for relaxation, there is no internet or signal at the cottage, which allows for social media detox. However, broadband is available near the main building/restaurant if you can't live without internet. I was able to do a couple of web/video calls to my office early in the morning before going deep into the forest.
