Overview
Located opposite Malung Train Station, this central hotel is a few minutes’ walk from Grönland Park and Storgatan, Malung’s main street. It offers free private parking and WiFi. Each room at Hotell Skinnargården has a private bathroom with a shower and cable TV. Breakfast is included as well. A seasonal restaurant and bar are found on site. Guests can try hearty, traditional à la carte dishes, followed by after-dinner drinks. In addition, Skinnargården often hosts dancing events. Popular activities in and around Malung include hiking, fishing and cross-country skiing. The popular ski resort of Sälen is a one-hour drive away.

I liked the location and that I had a combined refrigerator/freezer at the room. A kettle and instant coffee available in the corridor outside the room also added some comfort during the stay. I also liked that pin-codes could be used to enter the hotel and the room. I also liked the comfy bed and the clean room. Skinnargården is not a fancy hotel so if you are looking for that I would recommend to look for something else.

“The hotel exceeded my expectations”
I was very worried about the negative reviews and low review score that I almost wouldn't have booked, but I'm glad I did anyway. Sure, the hotel is in an old building and there is certain wear and tear, but the room itself had comfy new beds, a large TV and good shower. Breakfast exceeded my expectations, with a big choice of cold and warm dishes. I can imagine that in summer, it might be hot, but in this autumn season, we had no issues with the temperature in the room. A narrow window could also be opened.

“Good value for money close to Sälen.”
It was - 25 degrees outside so the property had put an extra electric heater in the room, which was a very nice touch. Also a huge plus that you can check in whenever you like.
