“Hidden Gem of a Hostel”

I was a solo traveller that came from Amanohashidate and Ine. I was the only guest at the time and I had the whole hostel to myself. I only stayed for 1 night but I wish I stayed longer. It was a traditional house but complete with modern furniture for convenience. There's a very cute and charming porch and the view from the tatami room is really nice while reading manga. Towels are free and you can use them for the bath house just 5 minutes away. There were also free bike rentals that I used to explore the nearby shrines, park, museum, cafes and a nice port inlet nearby.

The house was recently renovated, so the interior looks very nice and cozy. It's a traditional wooden Japanese house.

The place is well maintained, clean and cozy. It wasn't super big but we ended up sleeping well. Really liked the authentic Japanese housing and also the rental cycles, bathrooms and other amenities.

Great guesthouse with everything you could hope for. Nicely furnished, clean, and with a lot of thought and care put into making sure your stay is as good as possible. I really liked maizuru, and it's in a great location to explore the area

We had the place to ourselves which was truly amazing! Comfortable beds and a great Kitchen and living room. A beautiful garden and many informative books about nearby things got provided by the property owners.

“Cute and nice traditional Japanese house”

A traditional Japanese house is very cute. Free bicycle, Free kitchen, Friendly staff. A nice public baths close to the sea, if you ride bicycle just 6-8 minutes. Next time I plan to do a fishing tour, I will come back to this place.

Love the place, amazing staff that you can get to meet and just all around great place for a stay although it also depends on who you end up meeting there, personally I was pretty lucky! Located in the middle of town meaning everything is within range. They even offer free bikes for you to move around. The bathroom was also perfect with that mix of old and new, the whole place is the traditional ryokan style which is very nice and they also have a kotatsu! And the price is not even that high! Crazy!

It‘s an old renovated lovely house. the area around is very quiet, but you can find easily some nice restaurants around. it‘s fun to ride with the free rental bycicles into town and with the local train you can rich any further destination. we really enjoyed our stay here.

Super friendly staff. Even though there are no staff on site (reception 2 minutes walk away), they were amazingly responsive to my questions and handled things super quick (needed to ask for a knife for the kitchen). Atmosphere is really really chill. Not a party hostel, but a homey atmosphere in which to relax. Already extended several nights.

Friendly host, traditional Japanese house. Totally recommend ! I only stayed one night but I would have loved to stay longer.

The hostel is self check-in, so the host is not always there I came late at night but she rushed to the hostel to help me after receiving my message

“Warm and cozy house”

Authentic Japanese house modified to include modern amenities- It is very nice. The first floor has a wide reception area, and a shared living room, kitchen, with a washing area, bathroom and comfort room. There is a small garden, but you'd rather stay inside because the weather was so cold to be outside (late autumn). There are available bikes for free use :) The rooms are shared, and I think just appropriate for the price. The house is clean and amenities work just fine.

Great traditional guesthouse not too far from Nishi-Maizuru station (10-15mn walk). The private room is lovely, with fresh smell of tatami. Jinbei and samue available on rent. Bikes also available.
