“Decent apartment - active train station RIGHT NEXT DOOR.”

The Palais de Congress de Paris is 14 km away and the airport is 33 km away, but how about looking at what is right next door? And I mean NEXT DOOR. An active train station is across the street and you hear trains until 01h and starting again at 05h. You CAN close the windows and then the noise is not too bad - but still easily hearable, about as loud as someone talking in the next room. And, no ventilation then. The announcements from the train station intercom are about as loud as a TV playing in the next room. They stop at 01h and resume at 05h. Accurate descriptions of the habitation are important before the rental, to ensure good reviews after the rental! To leave a key piece of information like that unsaid … inexcusable. Further. What is your definite of the word “room”? To me, it is an enclosed space with a door. Here, there is no door between the bedroom and the living room. If your partner gets up, it’s like they are in the same room. There are good things about the apartment. The information to enter worked well. The couch and bed are comfortable, as is the bathroom and shower. The building itself is old for sure, but we anticipated that. The shower was nice, even for Mr. Big, although getting in and out was a bit of a trick. The kitchen is very small to be sure, but it worked well enough for what we needed for a week. Communication was good, he was prompt and helpful in his answers. Everything was very clean! Floors are faux wood, no carpets or rugs. There was enough space for this 1.98m man to roll on the floor and do his back exercises. The décor was plain. The toilet room was too small for this 1.98m man to sit on the toilet comfortably, even with the door open. In the end we had a mostly-enjoyable stay, though we did have to constantly choose between ventilation and noise.
