Fantastic staff. The young lady at breakfast was so helpful as was Aloise, Ethan and Michael. Breakfast was very good. Great variety to choose from. . Hotel Location is fantastic to access all tourist attractions.

“Everything Lyon within easy reach”
I had a very pleasant one-night stay at Mercure Lyon Centre Plaza République. The hotel’s biggest advantage is definitely its location. It’s easy to reach from the train station, and most of Lyon’s main attractions are within comfortable walking distance. The area is also full of restaurants and cafés, so there is always somewhere nice to eat just around the corner. The room was not particularly large, but it was perfectly adequate for two people. The bed was very comfortable, which made for a great night’s sleep. Everything was clean and in good condition. I didn’t try the hotel breakfast because there are many cafés nearby offering varied and often more affordable breakfast options compared to the typical hotel buffet. The bathroom layout was well planned and the shower was excellent — a proper, comfortable shower, which is always appreciated after a day of exploring. My interaction with the staff was minimal, but it was efficient, professional, and pleasant. I also noticed that the standard check-out time is 12:00, which is a nice touch for guests who prefer a more relaxed morning.

Staff were extremely friendly. Allowed bag drop when our train arrived early so we could explore before check in. Good sized room and great facilities. Walking distance to everything we wanted to do in Lyon. Room was extremely quiet.

Lovely hotel. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, giving us restaurant recommendations and other recommendations for things to do in the city. The location is perfect, within walking distance to the main spots of the city and close proximately to great restaurants without being on a noisy street. We didn't take the breakfast but the options looked great.

“OK.”
It was okay. The room was small with just a twin bed and a tiny bathroom/shower that was literally a closet in the bedroom, and a separate (also tiny) toilet. But it was good for spending just the night. Breakfast is +20 Eur., which is a bit much for whatever one can eat in the morning; but I ended up opting for it once for convenience's sake. The room has A/C, which is good (it was very hot when we were there), and the usual hotel-hassle-some but free WiFi (one needs to pay extra for Hi-Speed, which I didn't; I didn't try to stream anything, for emails etc. the free tier was fine).
