Different kind of home like option. Food was home food, everybody was like a family sharing experiences. Place has some history and grace. Shared wc and bathroom was not a problem.

Everything. If you're in the Lyngen alps for ski touring or other activities, look no further. Excellent advice and service, super helpful staff who make their utmost to guide around regarding terrain, weather and natural risks. The food is homemade and organic. The building is rich in history as well as well located. Special thanks to Matthieu and Ingun who made it possible. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

“Stay for nature”

The room was big and comfortable. The common toilets and showers were clean and numerous enough to not wait for them. There is a formula with all meals included (breakfast, lunch box and evening meal), which is easy for nature explorers. What is excellent also is that all meals are prepared as much as possible from local ingredients coming from the associated farm. Bread is especially good, cooked by Mathieu itself!

“Great place great people”

The atmosphere is unique, both the building and the surroundings are stunning. We spent just two nights unluckily, we didn't want to leave! Mathieu, Ingunn and Frederik (especially him!) are the best hosts possibile: warm, welcoming, fun, willing to explain about the history of the place, patient to answer all the (maybe stupid) questions. Mathieu gave us a tour of both the castle and the farm nearby where they live, and he's also a kayak teacher and guide: we didn't have enough time to try a kayak tour (also I was a bit afraid/lazy) but we will next time for sure! There's a big and beautiful kitchen for guests with everything you need to cook. Definitely a place to be!

Very nice people that are always happy to help. It is not a five star hotel but it is a charming hotel with a lot of very interesting history that the owners of the hotel will be happy to show you. Great stay!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice history in the place. Nicely equipped kitchen and common area for guests. Interesting breakfast serving, never had a breakfast served to the table before. Nice view!

A really cool property with some interesting history. It was like a visit to the past. The staff were super friendly! We don’t usually book rooms with shared bathrooms but this was a pleasant surprise as the bathrooms were super clean

Very special historical school-hotel with very good atmosphere and polite staff. The common kitchen with all facilities was working very well.

The dinner was poor.

“Unique stay in the heart of Lyngen Alps”

We really liked the staff and the atmosphere. The owners make this place really welcoming, and you can tell that they pour their whole heart into this project. The price was really good for the standard we got and the location is simply gorgeous. We also really enjoyed the game room that's available for guests at the ground floor, with good books, inspiration board and pool (bilard) table. It is a very unique place to stay. Our room was pleasant

The gear room was a big plus, nice to have a place where you can hang your gear to dry. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Solhov was so nice, with a lovely breakfast and dinner served each day! The couple running it have taken on a large project of making the former school into a hotel and are doing it splendidly!
