Room was spacious. It was also very clean. Location was very near to the temple and a lot of restaurants and also the neighbourhood was very new and still developing so it was very quiet and peaceful. The working lady was also very sweet.

Excellent value for money! We had a great stay at Tathagata homestay. The owner was very friendly, the room was exactly as described, with AC and a warm shower, and the location was fantastic, with it being just a short walk to Lumbini gate 5. Would highly recommend for the price.

The location was awesome and the staff was very caring and cooperative. The cleanliness was excellent. Major thing was there was so much of peaceful environment that relaxes the mind body and soul. Will definitely visit again.

The hospitality of the lovely lady who is taking care of the house is exceptional. Even though her English is little, she will try her best to make you feel home. The room is comfy and clean. The house is located in a quiet side street but it's easy to get around by foot

“Most peaceful place I've ever stayed in. 😊.”

This is one of the most peaceful places I've ever stayed in. ( And I've been to over 100 countries ! ). My 4th visit to Lumbini in 28 years, and the area is peaceful year round. But Tathàgata Homestay is situated at the end of Street 7, which only has 3 other occupied houses, + one being buiilt. Surrounded by open fields & grassland, where locals come with their goats & water buffalo to feed during the daytime. It's only a few minutes walk, on level ground, to the center of town ( ? ), & entrance to park area, ( Gate 5 ). Long distance busses stop there too, & the bus ticket kiosks are also there next to the main road. Very comfortable bed 👍💤.Uma kept me happy with the odd mug of tea. 🙏😊. Beautiful solid wooden furniture. Parking outside, + bikes for rent there. No traffic,so no noise ! 👍. Well worth visiting.100%.

This was my second stay at the homestay, and I chose it because the place is very cosy, it is relatively close to Gate 5, which has the restaurants, and it is, of course, the closest entry to the park. The rooms are basic but wonderful, with everything one would need. Fast WiFi, a fan on the wall for warmer days, a nice bed, a mosquito repellent for the warmer days, a desk with a chair, and a nice view of the fields from the second floor. There is always hot water. I have so far only taken a room with a shared bathroom, but I have never had to wait to take a shower. The lady who looks after the place is very sweet and always asks if I have eaten or if I need hot water (in the winter time) and so on (but she doesn't really speak English apart from some basic words. The place is quiet, and it is the last house on the street, by the fields. If one feels a bit scared to walk alone when it is dark, it would be a good idea to take a tuk-tuk that will bring you directly in front of the main entrance. Finally, the price is amazing. As I said, this was my second time staying there for around 10 days, and next time I go to Lumbini, I will stay there again. I absolutely recommend it.

Located in a serene padi field, able to see beautiful sunrise. Umar the care taker is like a mother, and she is so cute! Owner and stuff there are so helpful.

The host did her best to make me feel at home, and that's what I value the most. The room was very comfortable and clean.

Tathagata Homestay is a great little property to stay in, it's within walking distance of the grounds commemorating Buddha's Birthplace, and of many little shops. The people there are welcoming and friendly.

Really friendly host (you may need help of google translate if you don't speak Nepali). Close to restaurants, bike rental and the Lumbini attractions.

Owner is very friendly. Provided me credit card payment, helped me to book Taxi to Gorakhpur and also let me stay a little longer with late check out
