A little slice of heaven! Everything was fantastic. The steam room, followed by dunk in the pool was sensational - not to be outdone by the massage. Gorgeous fresh air, good food, comfortable rooms and a great swimming pool. Couldn't fault it!

Beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Really friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Delicious food at the restaurant.

Holger and team took great care of us. We enjoyed the peace and quiet for four nights. Could stay more, but holiday was ending. Nature was all around with its sounds. Location was secluded, but it was exactly what we wished for. Shuttle bus took us to visit town and back. Pool was nice, enough sunbeds and water was cool. Food was well prepared and fresh. Great stay, could come back any time!

“A Chill Out Zone par Excellence.”

This has, without doubt been one of the highlights of our SE Asia tour. This is a chill zone par excellence. We only had 4 days there and would easily have doubled our time there if vacancies allowed. The owner, Holger is just great and he and his wife have something they should be very proud of. The staff are all outstanding and the meals they provide are prepared, cooked and presented with care and pride. There is an aura of tranquility that makes this place very special. For us, after frantic Hanoi we couldn’t have asked for better. We wholeheartedly recommend this fabulous location and if we should ever venture back to this part of the world we will be here without doubt.

Loved the mountain retreat location. I was forced to slow down and relax which I don't normally do. Holga was an amazing host, picked us up from our cruise, was relaxed about check-in and payment, and provided us with useful information. the rooms are spacious and very clean, beds are comfy and the restaurant food is excellent. The pool and herbal steam room were a treat.

Classy but at the same time casual and cosy. - There was enough to do not to be bored, and few enough things to feel fine doing nothing and taking it slow. - Great food from garden and no MSG - Our kids loved that the dog assisted us at every walk outside the resort. - nearby nature park w. zipline and waterfalls is outstanding

Our stay at Hillside Nature Lifestyle Lodge was one of the most memorable experiences of our entire trip to Laos. The place feels like a hidden sanctuary — tucked away in the lush hills, surrounded by greenery, birdsong, and pure tranquility. It’s the perfect escape from the city noise while still being close enough to Luang Prabang. The bungalows are simple but beautifully designed — simple yet cozy, with every detail made to blend into nature. We especially loved waking up to the sounds of the forest and having coffee on our terrace with a view of the mountains. The staff were exceptional — warm, genuine, and always ready to help. Everything felt personal and authentic. The food at the lodge restaurant was another highlight — fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. Special thanks to the lovely family for creating wonderful evening for me and my friends with local Lao dishes and place by the fire pit to enjoy late evening. We also appreciated the eco-friendly mindset — natural materials, quiet atmosphere, and respect for the environment are visible everywhere. The swimming pool overlooking the hills is just breathtaking, especially during sunrise. If you’re looking for a place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the peaceful side of Laos, this lodge is a true gem. We left feeling deeply rested and grateful — would return in a heartbeat! 💚

“Wish we could have stayed longer!”

What a stunning property to relax in away from busy Luang Prabang for a few days. I wished we could have stayed longer! Kids loved the large pool and the board games and the food! Parents loved the sauna and the serenity. Very comfy beds. Great host. Very accommodating to us with weather forcing us to change plans too.

“Gorgeous Mountain Location”

Fabulous place in the mountains. Perfect to wind down and relax. Hosts were friendly and helpful. We used the car service, massage and herbal sauna, and loved it all. We had previously stayed in town, so had explored Luang Prabang and were able to relax at Hillside and enjoy the location. It’s 20 minutes from town and a rugged road. We ate dinner at the property each night and the food was fabulous. Such a lovely stay.

If you had explored Luang Prabang’s architecture and culture, here’s the place to explore the nature. Nestled in the jungle surrounding and tranquil. The owner is very friendly and informative, Khan from reception was very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. Surprisingly, they have very delicious food except the preparation takes some time.

the meals were excellent. The pool lovely. I had a steam bath sauna which was also great. So quiet and peaceful there.

“Superb hotel to relax and discover local villages”

We stayed here for 4 nights to mainly relax having already stayed in Luang Prabang itself. It is a superb hotel. Very relaxed and yet efficient, friendly staff, delicious food including many vegetarian and vegan options. We enjoyed walking to the two local villages which are untouched by tourism and also the nature park and read books around the lovely swimming pool the rest of the time.

Excellent base outside of Luang Prabang for hikes, visiting the Nahm Dong Park (great for families with kids for short hikes, swimming in the waterfalls, and other activities), and just hanging out at the nice pool, going for a herbal steam bath, playing petanque, ... Highly recommended for a Luang Prabang getaway while still being close to the city.
