Great hotel spotless, great hosts, and in a beautifull village.

The lighting in the room was excellent. Parking was very convenient. Evening meal and breakfast were offered but we turned them down for our own reasons.

“Good hotel. Lovely setting”

On the one hand, Le Cantou is a lovely hotel located on the edge of Loubressac, a small 13th century elevated village; on the other hand I thought the 144€ I paid for one night’s accommodation and dinner was rather over the top. This was one of three overnight stopovers along a meandering journey to take in some of the villages & towns along a route from Bordeaux airport to Aurillac in The Lot. There weren’t many places with hotels along this section of my route and Loubressac was, to be honest, the only choice to fit in with my timescale. I try to limit my budget on these trips but I had to grit my teeth and accept that, in this case, I would be paying more than I would have liked. Having said that, I had a good modern room with quality fittings in both the bedroom and shower room, tea/coffee-making facilities, and a fabulous view from the room which I had impulsively chosen to upgrade for an extra 15€. Aircon would have been good but the huge ceiling fan was adequate. The hotel has a small private car park and a terrace with tables & chairs for relaxing with a drink, eating or just sitting to take in the stunning views to the west across the plains towards the valleys of the Dordogne. I had dinner on the terrace in the setting sun. It was a little disappointing to find that there was only a very small limited-choice menu available although the very pleasant & reasonably priced Coteaux de Glanes vin rouge slightly made up for it. The three-courses with wine cost 45€. I have mixed feelings about my stay here but I think that’s mainly due to the cost. It is a good hotel in a lovely setting which Christophe & Romain run with enthusiasm & efficiency.

Lovely hotel and rooms are nicely decorated. Staff are very friendly, spoke exceptional English and very helpful. Food was VERY good, quality not quantity. We will visit again and again.

This was a very well run establishment that we enjoyed along our walking tour of the region. The team was very friendly and highly organized. The music in the bar and at breakfast was very enjoyable. The room was comfortable and clean. There were personal touches, which we appreciated. The breakfast was very good. Many choices and a relaxed environment.

The breakfast was excellent. The room was very comfortable. The outdoor furniture in the garden with a view across the valley was superb. The host was super helpful and friendly.

“A pleasant stopover in a pretty village”

Le Cantou Is a very pleasant hôtel in a beautiful location. It was lovely sitting outside having a beer and in the morning, having breakfast on the terrace. The room was on the small side, but quiet and perfectly comfortable. Excellent shower and lovely fluffy towels. The staff were polite and helpful. We were going to an event nearby so did not sample the very pleasant terrace restaurant, but it looked to be a lovely place to dine.

Excellent location with breathtaking views. The restaurant downstairs is amazing for fine dining, every dish was a work of art. Room clean and had a powerful fan to keep us cool in the heat.

I appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner. He helped me to feel at home at ones. His ability to foreign languages is a great extra. The location is beautiful situated with a breathtaking vieuw. The accomodation had all I needed and more.
