“Conveniently located property with basic amenities”
The vault is conveniently located near the main shopping mall with lots of restaurants within 2-3 minutes walk. There is also a sushi restaurant on site which serve sushi and other Japanese dishes.

Great hotel, has everything you need and it's very cosy, especially being out in such a remote location. The buffet breakfast was amazing every morning and the staff were helpful.

“Do not stay at this place”
DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE They have a policy that requires guests to leave their shoes at the reception, without any proper care or security. My girlfriend’s boots went missing, and they made no effort whatsoever to compensate for the loss of €215.

“Cosy local hotel that has everything you need.”
Note this review is for Polfarenen as my booking was upgraded from the Vault, both hotels are under the same management. My room was spacious, with lots of hangers and hooks, perfect for winter coats, fleeces etc. I went in winter yet had to turn down the heating as the room was too warm! The bed was comfortable, and amenities including hairdryer were provided. Tea and coffee are included in the room, and if you run out you can wander down to the cosy reception area and help yourself to more. The staff were pleasant and helpful without being intrusive. Breakfast was standard buffet fare, comprising of Norwegian, Continental and English options. I liked that it was served from 7 - 10am, so you could have a sleep in if you wanted. Longyearbyen is a small town, so location is less important here. But the hotel is within 100 metres of the supermarket, mall and boutique shops. All tour operators will pick you up and drop you off at the hotel.

“Unhappy stay at Polfareren”
The breakfast was good. The room was spacious. The shower was spacious enough. It was nice to have underfloor heating in the bathroom and the light came on automatically if you enter the bathroom.

“Cozy, clean, modern, good location & great breakfast.”
We were moved to the Polfareren hotel, so this review is not about the Vault as we didn't end up staying there. The Polfareren was lovely, modern, clean and great location at the top of the main High St. Breakfast was the best hotel buffet selection either of us had had, since our trip to the Maldives. Lovely and fresh, good quality, lots of hot and cold choices. Wood fire in the lounge with comfy chairs was a regular spot for us after excursions and long walks around the town. Lovely big bed, great view of the mountain from the bed through the large window, we were in room 232. Clean and modern bathroom, bath with good pressure shower, lovely hot water.
