Set within a converted 14th-century water castle, this exclusive hotel in Lohmar boasts its own 27-hole golf course with driving range, tastefully furnished rooms with antiques, and gourmet cuisine. Next to the Castle there is our new Design Hotel " Golflodge" with 7 bedrooms including 2 spacious suites overlooking the golfcourse and the Castle. The rooms and suites here at the Schloss Auel Boutique Hotel & Design Golf Lodge feature valuable antiques, flat-screen TVs, modern bathrooms, and there is free Wi-Fi internet access in the entire hotel. Since summer 2016, directly next to Schloss Auel, guests can enjoy new rooms in the minimalistic styled Golflodge. For an additional fee, you can start each day with a delicious breakfast. Pay a visit to the hotel's Im Schloss restaurant, serving exquisite à la carte delights and select wines. You can also dine in the charming private spa. If guests want to dine in our historical premises they have to book in advance

Modern and well designed rooms. Larger than your normal hotel room and the en-suite was well above the normal standard (shame that a twin sink wasn’t planned in though). The staff were very friendly.

Very nice room, although took us ages to work out light switches also turned off power sockets which wasnt great for charging phone overnight

“Comfortable, quiet luxury, in a great setting!”
Good quality, All the usuals were available, with great tea and coffee. Slightly limited in some areas considering the hotel standards.

“Wonderful and would definitely stay here again”
The setting of this hotel is spectacular, with wonderful archetechture. I stayed in the golf lodge which was contemporary and comfortable with superb facilities and a little private terrace.

We had the most wonderful weekend stay at this marvellous property. It was an absolute pleasure to meet Nastasia who was incredibly friendly and happy to accommodate our needs during our stay. The family history at the castle is remarkable.

Beautiful historic building, unique setting and only 20-30 mins from Koln Airport. Excellent, helpful staff especially Tatiana and Dirk. Very good breakfast and food options for dinner also very good.

It was an unforgettable three days of relaxation in this beautiful hotel. The location is simply gorgeous, around the castle there is nature as in the pictures, clean air, beautiful birdsong, a nice and comfortable room, delicious food, a pleasant atmosphere and the best staff. “Beautiful old place, with much historic interest”
Excellent lovely place, with honesty bar. We did not have dinner so cannot comment, but breakfast was good. We did not use the golf facilities.

“Pleasant Setting but lack of staff presence & facilities meant a motel rather than Hotel experience”
The staff were helpful and supportive. the setting is a very pleasant green space adjacent to a Golf Course.

The property was in a great countryside location (station to Cologne accessible within 20 minutes walk), especially if you have a car. The property had lovely staff who made us feel very welcome. The gym is comprehensive and the place has great history. Definitely recommend!
