“Unbelievable and unique experience - brilliant!”

This property was lovely. It is far enough away from everything to be quiet and private, and the surroundings are so picturesque. It’s well built and the interior well set out, with some lovely little additions such as slippers, a headlight and blankets. We stayed during February and did not feel the cold at all, it was well heated and cosy. The highlight was definitely being able to see the northern lights, and it’s amazing that we could do this from the bed through the many windows! We also really appreciated the amazing breakfast the next morning, with porridge accompanied by lots of dried fruits, and a really tasty and warm muffin.

The hosts were really kind and attentive. They were very patient with me asking lots of questions and not having a car. Beautiful setting and great breakfast. Thank you much.

“Cosy,adorable igloo.”

Lola brought us (in the snow) some lovely porridge and muffins in the morning. Just what we needed to start our day. Property is very warm and super cute in the snow, if I get the chance to return to an Iceland this property would be on my list to return.

“Quirky, cute and cozy!”

We thought we were in the wrong place when we first arrived and Lola the host saw us drive away so called to say we were in the right place all along! She was very welcoming and showed us to the Igluhus and explained where everything was and how things worked. This was especially important as there were strong winds forecast and it was a good thing we locked the door from the inside. The outside toilet door had blown open in the night (we didn't hear this) so we reported this when Lola delivered breakfast at the requested time. Delicious homemade porridge with dried fruit and muffins. The location was beautiful, the stream at the foot of the property and the mountains in the distance. We saw the Aurora in this location - without having to leave the Igluhus due to the great windows/sklylights! Really comfortable bed and the provision of the slippers was appreciated, very cozy and cute!

“Wonderful little spot for relaxation”

The location and setup are amazing - on the banks of the little river looking towards the mountains, a couple of minutes’ walk into town. And watching the aurora from bed through the overhead windows was truly magical. And Lola and Laurent were fabulous hosts.

The breakfast was delicious! Loved all the toppings for the oatmeal. Location was fantastic! Beautiful surroundings. Dark skies, was perfect for northern lights viewing!

Thanks to Lola and your gorgeous family and property. The Iglúhús was a unique, cosy, comfy, wonderful place to stay in a stunning location. Not having a shower encouraged us to visit Hauganes Hot Tubs when it opened at 9am. Both of these experiences together were probably my favourite in Iceland! And we (kind of) saw the northern lights when accidentally waking up at 2am! It was genuinely so much fun.

Honestly a great accomodation in a dark quite yet beautiful piece of earth. So cozy and lovely and the hosts are a gem! Best selfmade muffin for breakfast Ive ever had!

From the moment we booked our stay at the Iglúhús, Lola and Laurent were very helpful and welcoming. We loved everything about our stay: the comfortable (and warm) room, spectacular views, delicious breakfast and nice chats with Lola and Laurent. It is a very unique and beautiful way to spend a night looking to the stars or Nothern lights. You wake up looking out to beautiful mountains and small river! Please note that there is no shower

WOW! I can’t even begin to explain how much we loved this property! The best experience ever, we got to see the northern lights, we have Akureyri really near and the hosts were the best. This is a MUST!

For one or two persons traveling this is a way to experience something totally different. Loved it. Good homemade breakfast. Beautiful scenery.

A super magical place. It couldn't have been better. We found this wooden iglúhús half an hour north of Akureyri beside of a river just reaching the sea with am amazing and inspiring view. Lovely owners are loverly hosts. The cozy hut had everything we needed, tough ideas, creative solutions. Plus a wonderful breakfast with homemade muffins and a hot dish served to this little hut.
