Staying on the mountain, beside the forest in the cosy cabin was fabulous. I SO recommend it! The other nice thing is you are only 2 minutes from the Etna Tour meeting point at Piano Provenzana, so no mad dash in the morning! I was with a group of friends, staying in various locations. We all agreed, the night in the cabin felt like a holiday within a holiday.

Rifugio Ginepro was one of our best accomodations ever. Angelo was very hospitable and show us everything what we needed. One day we would like to come back...this time for winter.

“Peace and great nature”
Perfect location for Etna tour (the company is located a 10 minutes walk away) and for skiing in winter. Great view on the steaming Etna crater. The small house has two floors. The upper floor contains the bedroom and a toilet while the ground floor has a small and very well equipped kitchen, a bath with Sauna and the living room. There are also two balcony areas on both sides of the house. A private parking is provided as well. As if that wasn't enough, Angelo (the host) is a great and very generous guy. He not only helped us making a better decision regarding our Etna tour he also provided groceries of all sorts and in an amount far more than we could ever consume during our stay. For free! Thanks a lot Angelo. There is a sheepherd taking care of his herd together with his dogs. Don't be afraid of the dog family. The will bark at you but if you approach them friendly they will even let you pet them. The goodest family. To take into consideration is: the place is located at around 1800-1900 meters above sea level. You are pretty isolated and the next small towns are bit more than 30 minutes drive away. Also those towns seemed not to be that busy. But there is a restaurant near the accomodation which operates until 7pm.
