“Super friendly host, adorable accommodation and a beautiful garden”

The host was super friendly and helped us perfectly out with best spots to go to, both for hiking as for diner. In addition the accodomation was very clean and we had access to multiple places outside where we could sit in the sun and enjoy the view

This lovely holiday home is easy to reach even without a car, traveling as we did by train to Bad Schandau - then the 260 bus which drops you a 10 min stroll from the apartment. The owners are great hosts and made us feel comfortably at home with plenty of info to share about the local area - speaking mostly German but also basic english if needed. The local village is characteristically quaint and has a nice little ‘Dorfladen’ for essential groceries, gifts, hiking maps and a coffee shop too, although if you plan to do much cooking on site best to bring most supplies with you. Speaking of which, the kitchen at the apartment is perfectly functional and has all you need to make good meals. Knut also kindly gave us a bag of delicious Brötchen from a baker in a near by Dorf! The bed is comfy, the fresh air perfect for a good nights sleep and the apartment is clean and well kept. There is a small dining table and in the living room a wood burning stove (with fuel provided) giving a cosy feel if the evenings are chilly! From the home spot it’s a short 40 min walk down the hill to the entrance of the national park and an abundance of breathtaking hiking trails for all levels. The sandstone mountains and rock formations to be found here will be a joy to any experienced hiker or climber and offer a fantastic range of landscapes to enjoy.

The hosts are very friendly, ready to help if needed. Additionally, we were provided upon our request with information regarded to daily life of the local society, places worth visiting, etc. The place is very quiet, clean and cosy. All equipment was brand new one. The ideal place for tourists seeking tranquillity. Since we tried to combine the rest with some activities we were very pleased with the available bicycles line e.g. a vey nice line on the banks of the Elbe river.
