Overview
In the center of the monumental Villa de Lerma, this 17th century family mansion is now a cozy hotel. It retains its original structure, its beams and Castilian stone walls, interior courtyard and cellar. It has nine rooms with private bathrooms that achieve this delicate balance between house and hotel. The Hotel Rural el Zaguán has nine rooms and all of them are different. Six double rooms and three quadruple rooms, all with private bathroom. Also, you can enjoy its common areas such as the large living room and patio. Every day they serve breakfast with local products. Located in the historic center of Lerma, next to the A-1 freeway. A 20-minute drive from Burgos and 2 hours from Madrid and Bilbao. The Lerma Golf Course is a 10-minute drive from the hotel.

“Absolutely delightful”
A really charming hotel in a beautiful town. Lovely accommodation- large and comfortable room. Breakfast was amazing- typically Spanish but with Seranno ham from the owner's father's pigs.

“Quirky little gem in lovely small town”
The host was fantastic, we arrived late in the evening and he was waiting outside to help us park. Had plenty of room for 3 of us and a dog (very dog friendly place!). Very quiet. Nearby bars were super and beautiful little town. Even a rapid electric charger nearby, what more could you want. I recommend having the breakfast, so homely and even as vegans we had plenty to eat. The host is amazing and it really added to the stay (and you may be lucky and get a tour of the cellar as we did!)

We had a lovely at Hotel Rural El Zaguan.. The weather was freezing but we were made welcome with coffee and homemade biscuits, and a beer. The building is lovely, full of character. We were lucky enough to be allowed to bring our two dogs along, free of charge. The breakfast was good, cold ham, bread, fruits and coffee. Would definitely stay again when on route to ferry. The host made us feel very welcome.

Friendly host who cooked breakfast for us. Comfortable room in interesting, well restored old building. Free parking two minutes walk away. Dogs allowed. Short walk to main square with a choice of restaurants. We also liked Casa Lara opposite the hotel - simple bar with good value food and cheerful, friendly owner. .

The host was really friendly. He gave our children a gift of locally made biscuits produced at a monastery and gave us a glass of locally produced wine. The restoration of the 300 year old building was beautifully done. A special place to stay.

Outstanding choice of fresh local produce served by the kind,friendly owner.First class continental breakfast.No one could fault it.We would stay there every time.The architecture of the building was wonderful.Very large bedroom on the top floor had bath & shower ,plenty of room for 4 adults.Superb accommodation
